Gentlemen,

Am I safe to assume that an 11C on the Trubalance last is about equal to an 11D in general terms?

Thanks

I think so, yes. I am a 12D on the Brannock. I had several sizing experiments on the Trubalance last, finally discovering that down a width is the best solution for me, so I have a 12C which fits nicely.

Trubalance is a wide last, but not long, so sizing down in width is a safe guess.

NST Tanker Anique Welt Color 8 on Truebalance. Looks like an Indy to me with split toe. This boot doesn't know what it wants to be... But being my first Truebalance .. I like them very much and the look of the boot appeals to me.

These are open 360 welt .. I didn't think Indy had an open heel..

Like many of you I've caught the Alden bug!

I already have a pair of Alden 979 (Tobacco LWB), and am considering the 968 as a dressier alternative. I'm primarily business casual, so this will be my dressiest pair of shoes on rare occasion being worn with a suit. My other option is the 975, but I feel two LWB in the rotation may be redundant.

Any opinions or alternatives?
The 975 is an Alden classic. If you like the split toe then the 2210 is also a great alternative.

I have several - four - long wings and six more wingtip shoes in my rotation. Plus two wingtip boots. I've consciously added some PTB's to the mix, but I regret none of my wings - they've all got something they are doing different for me, so I'm happy.

Wear what you like - a 975 is never a bad choice. One of these years I'll add a pair to my rotation.

I dropped in on a very-busy Alden of SF today, and had a closer look at the chukkas I saw last time. They've got them in brown, natty and black (I think) CXL and have an unfinished edge that is really cool. I saw the same edge on some PTB's and boots too...

Very awesome...

Just ordered my first pair of 405 Indy Boots. This is the most expensive pair of boots I've ever bought. I hesitated a lot about it, but in the end I decided to stop thinking about to much and just pull the trigger. I hope I don't regret it...
