The darker #8 is reacting well to the multiple days on the porch in the sun. Indoor lighting and no flash.

Your classic looking PTBs are looking very nice. They have lightened up a pidge. Be careful to not get too carried away and to dry them out. The sun is very powerful.

-Mike
Good advice. I think I am done and they got about 5 days of sun over a one month period. It removed some of the deep purple and moved it closer to the burgundy I associate with #8.

Best and quickest place to pick up a deer bone Southwest USA? Thanks crew..

A Fine Pair of Shoes sells Abbyhorn bones for about $25 shipped regularly with no tracking, which has generally been 4-5 days to the east coast from the UK. They have an express shipping as well that probably adds $8-$10 more, but I'd guess it is at least 4-5 days to you, possibly more. I'm debating ordering one from them

Leffot is a little pricey when you add the shipping ($45 or so).

I do not know, I got my Deerbone from Leffot. They can overnight if you are that desperate. :)

That's where I got mine as well. I really don't use it all that often. First time out, I put a big scratch on a pair of PTB's. It came right out as is the nature of shell but I've been gun shy ever since. Now I'm careful to use only one big flat section on the bone.

Ha, I have only scuffed a shoe once using the deer bone, I have always been more cautious since and haven't done it again. I really love the deer bone and that is one of my key tools.

I just got a deer bone from leffot. It's my first deer bone but it seems awfully dry. I don't seem to be getting any oils out of it when I use it.

Is there a good deer bone primer/FAQ out there somewhere? I see bits and chunks around, and a few YouTube videos, but nothing really A-Z...

Just snapped a couple more recent images. Couple of years and I'll be in @thams territory.

Those are lookin' sweet! Your have retained the more of the distinct burgundy color which I dig. Let's face it, the rare colors get all the love, but color 8 ages the most gracefully.
