1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    HI Guys,

Looking at a snuff suede boot , I don't wear dress boots but want to get a snuff boot that it's comfortable for walking and versatile, I'm trying to decide between a Plain Toe Boot (BB version with crepe sole) or an Indy Snuff suede with Commando sole .

Opinions are welcome , comfort is my priority, It doesn't snow where I live but I normally travel to the NE and Canada in christmas so a sole that is good for snow is a + but that is not my top priority.

    TIA.

I have Yenni's snuff suede boots on commando, and they are easily my most comfortable pair of footwear. They amaze me every time I put them on...

Got the J.Crew Shell tankers in today. I guess I would say I'm underwhelmed. But I only tried them on with jeans, so I will see how I like them with a tweed suit next.

    I'll get some pics tomorrow.

I think just because they are kinda "all black everything" - I think the welt not being dyed black and the sole not being crepe would have given some contrast, pop. We'll see. I may feel differently tomorrow, but I got no where near the jolt of delight I did when I got my Kudu Indy's from them.

I see, Yeah Black Shell Cordovan is plain...I get it. But for $700 plus you'd better love em...

But an Alden black she'll tanker is also beautiful, classy, versatile, and absolutely kick ass boss all at the same time.

I'm sure! Still....it's a expensive boot if you're not in love with it.

And that's all it is - I am not sure for 700+ I am happy enough with them to keep them.

Thanks, bag is from Atelier de l’Armée, made from vintage/NOS materials from their collector's bags.

Would anyone happen to know if Alden would restore a pair that has been reheeled?

I go through heels quite fast and I have pairs that need to be reheeled long before they need a restore.
