1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Maybe the wrong thread, but any ideas for something similar to alden indy, but a bit cheaper? I have a pair of indys, but I want to have an extra pair of boots, a little bit cheaper this time. I mean another brand.

    I agree with Duff.

I bought a pair of Snuff Suede Kenton's for $75 last year on sale and they are great. They look similar to Indy's....They have that cool red sole too.

Get 'em on sale and then apply for a J. Crew CC and you get another % off.

You can snow seal suede? Interesting...

Not that I'd need to but what did you use.

Does snow sealing them give them the look of a waxed boot?

yes sir. works well. suede soaks up the sno-seal wax well. stuff was originally used to waterproof rough out leather boots. It does change the look though... I think for the better.

I will never forgive myself for passing on Cigar Indys a few years back.

You might have a chance to get something similar if you want. The rumor is that the upcoming AE trunk show will have Ruby shell..
I'm trying to convince myself these would be practical, but I have a hard time selling myself.

No offense to anyone here, but the LHS in standard color 8 imho, is a far nicer choice than either the color 2 or ruby shell options. Sometimes we get a little carried away by scarcity. But, I've always said, to each his own...

Alden snuff Roys just back from restoration. The uppers have always been in decent shape with some indigo transfer plus a few scuffs, but Alden cleaned them up a bit. Before pic is first then one from today in direct sun, they're not as yellow in real life. Overall really pleased. Turn around time was about as quoted.

They were made for Tassels Hong King's 8th year anniversary.

imagine if alden decides to discontinue color 8. it would be even more rare then the color 2, 4, ravello and cigar is today.
