I could definitely relate to this, and I just felt limited by it. So I actually sold off most of my cordovan makeups for lack of wear or not perfect sizing, and now my shoe rotation is mainly EG. Not a bad trade off i'd say ;)

As for today's Leffot pre-orders, I think the Leffot color 8 tanker has lost some of its luster (exclusivity) with other stores doing similar makeups like B&M or AoM. I pre-ordered the last round and had a hard time reselling them.

I don't understand why people are afraid to wear shell in the rain. I understand the hesitation with light shells like whiskey and ravello, but my darker shells handle rain like a champ. The secret is to get flex or commando soles - they handle water very well.

Rain is just a patina accelerator, and heavily patinated shell is unparalleled in beauty, IMO...

I was considering ordering the tobacco LWB, but I couldn't find reliable photos of how they look after extended wear. I could see the tobacco LWB being a perfect fall/winter casual shoe.

I've posted this before, but I am focusing my cordovan wear on "dress" models. I am perfectly comfortable wearing color 8 and black shell in the rain. For casual wear, though, calf, CXL, chamois perform and look just as good, though, so I'm seeing less value in them, at least for my wardrobe. A number of regulars in this thread have an essentially casual wardrobe and can therefore wear models like the color 8 tankers Monday-Friday - I can't really do that.

What's your issue with the sizing? This model is tough to size.

    Gents,
there seems to be a full size run still available on the chamois gunboats, and quite a few of the other models still available.
Maybe they were just late with their release.

Thanks for this - just placed my order. I think they just hadn't gotten the size run loaded till later. Sorry if anyone else wanted the 10D!

That's funny, I prefer the opposite: shell for more casual wear, and calf for dressier shoes like oxfords, etc.

    :)

Happy to add a classic, and longtime fav, to the collection. Welcome the BB unlined LHS.

Just worried whether I nailed length right. Everything I've read has people going TTS with Leydon (1/2 size up from Barrie) but I went up a full size from Barrie.

The TTS pair had me worried that my toe was pressing at the end and the 1/2 up has a bit more room than I need. That said they're perfect with Chup socks and today I put in a thin insole as I'm wearing super thin socks.

I did go E width as recommended and the width is good.

I think they should be ok. I may just need a slightly thicker insole.

They were incredibly comfortable all day though.

God I love these so much. I'm sure Brooks Brothers in Toronto doesn't stock them.

It kind of adds insult to injury that BB will stock them in A, B, C, and D widths, but not E.

Couple of years ago. If memory serves, they had every imaginable combo at the time. You might want to give the Madison Ave store a call, store inventory is generally not reflected online, and they may even be able to track them down for you if possible. BB usually only has the cordovan models in the "high end" shops like Beverly Hills, Atlanta, Boston and of course NYC (Madison Ave).

It's been impossible to find a pair, BB online has been out of the 8D forever and the store here in Calgary only carries black.

I am about an 8.25D on Brannock and went with an 8D. They fit pretty fantastic right out of the box, looking forward to breaking them in this summer.

They do, these are the BB version. I was lucky to see my size pop up on eBay so I jumped on them.
