1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Quote: Thanks! I actually used my hands to change the direction of the knap - and the photo shows the knap in the darker position. Would the slight color difference bother you enough to exchange them?

Yes, if they're new and you've tried the nap thing, I would definitely return them. They'll drive you nuts every time you wear them, and unlike the variation we see in shell, the toe caps should match.

    Thank you gents!

I took a lot of heat for that get-up...I thought it was relatively causal?

Well that was an expensive reply you sent me!! I visited the store on Madison last week with the intention of checking the colour of the suede and now I have arrived back in Europe with a suitcase containing a pair of the tan unlined chukkas (and also the unlined PTB in snuff AND the unlined LHS in snuff :embar:).

What surprises me most is the different fits of the models even in the same lasts. In Shell I am a dead on US 10 E in the Barrie for both PTB and LWB. For the suede unlined on Barrie I had to go 10.5 E and for the Leydon and Van unlined snuff models both where 11.5E.

You are looking very Mediterranean in this pic. I really like it.

Have you ever heard of Rubinacci?

Based upon this ensemble, you should check his stuff out. Some of the finest tailoring in modern times IMO.

    Thanks.

    Thank you, I appreciate that!

I have indeed and were I able to elevate my game to that level I certainly would. I love the pleated, neapolitan shoulders and smooth roll of the lapel.

Man... Alden's are super clean looking.
I want more Aldens! I'm still partial to my Wolverine 1000 mile collection.

But, the fit and finish on the Alden's, and clicking looks is so much better.

Alden Indy 405 here I come. Maybe in shell.

I can't wait to get my Alden Epaulet Michigan Innsbruck boots.
