Famous last words! Looking good in a classic!

Way to "Crush" the 975s and jeans, Mr Wheaton. Looking good

No kidding, good luck with that plan.. Hey, kidding .. Sort of, 975's looking good brother..

Thanks, guys. I think I've really been bitten by the Alden bug. I have been lusting after some cordovan Aldens for a while now, but could never bring myself to buying a pair. Keep in mind, up until now, I've mostly worn sneakers and Cole Haans that I get on sale for $100. I think most guys looking to "up" their shoe game start out with something a bit more reasonable like calf AEs, but I really went overboard!!

Looking good!

Do you guys know if the Saphir cordovan cream is meant to be used in lieu of reno or any other conditioner? It seems like it's meant to be an all-in-one type of product.

Howdy. I just picked up a pair of 403 Chromexcel boots. I've commonly sized out as a 9.5 4E. Ordered 9.5 EEE from Shoe Mart, felt slighty clunky. Ordered 9 EEE, which feels okay, but perhaps too big outside of the width.

My real concern: my upper ankle / lower calf (whatever you call that area) is totally blasted from wear. Developed some painful red marks which are now really sensitive to the boot's touch. Is this temporary? Do I need socks that totally clear the boot height? How tight should I be lacing up the top?

Starting to think I've made a huge mistake :p Any help much appreciated!

I'd buy some socks that extend past the boots. Also, I'd probably leave the boots slightly loose until the leather softens up a bit, which shouldn't take more than a few wears.

ShoeMart just got a run in on the Plaza Last in Color 8 and Antique and Black.

-Mike

I've been debating those the last few days, but the medallion on the Plaza last version from ShoeMart looks kind of off to me. Looks incomplete towards the front of the toe and also a bit like an illustration of the female reproductive system you'd see in an anatomy text book. The medallion on the Aberdeen? last version above looks much better to me:

Based on those photos, I still find the Plaza much better.

Looking good in your Tankers. Keep warm and safe.
Upgraded closet space. Aldens get top shelf.
Very nicely done! Of course the Aldies get top shelf!

Maiden voyage Leffot navy suede LWB
Looking great in your Leffot's! Those are amongst my favorite makeups. Enjoy them!
Thanks Mike! A couple more since the lighting was being friendly.
Both the CHUPs and the Whiskeys are looking superb together. That CHUP pattern is great.
I've decided my Alden shell chukkas aren't for me - I prefer suede or something more casual when I wear that style. If you're a 12D in Barrie and interested in these rare shell colors (which are IMO the "old" colors, especially Ravello), PM me! I'll likely make a B&S post next week.

Sorry for the shameless ad but it's rare shell...
Sorry to hear that. Hope that they find a good home!
Indys for the circus with the family. Stay warm and safe out there with the storm to all of those impacted!

Looking good. Enjoy your time.
Breaking in my new 975s. I think I'm done buying for now. :rotflmao:
Yeah, I doubt that. Enjoy! -Mike

Looking good, Mike.

I'd like to pick up some LHSs, but I think I'd really need to try them on in person. I like loafers, but they don't seem to like me (flat feet).

very nice, is this the alt wien boot from aoc/yenni in colour8?
Thanks. No, this is the boot version of the 2145... similar alt wien design but on the aberdeen last. They were originally made for Tassels in Hong Kong, but Kathy in DC ended with them. Also, they are Cigar shell.
