A new season, a new thread.

Mou! Zlatan! Pogba! - ManU are geared up.

Guardiola!... Sané? Nolito? Stones? - ManCity are optimistic.

Meanwhile the Spanish giants have slumbered a bit, Bayern looks to be a contender, and Juve has a slew of new talent. Things shall be interesting.

Currently watching the UEFA Super Cup between Madrid and Sevilla.

Bayern looks to be a contender? Really? Don't tell me the sun is warm too! The league is Bayern's every year. It's horribly boring and predictable, only made worse by the fact that I can't stand them. Ugh.

No argument that it's boring to have one team that is so dominant. (Bonjour, Ligue 1 !) But I suspect El Argentino was referring to Bayern being a contender in Europe; we all know the Bundesliga is a foregone conclusion.

The Man U stuff has been fascinating and appalling at the same time. Mou is such an asshole but it would be astonishing incompetence/obstinacy if he doesn't drag the Red Devils up the table a few spots.

Being a ManU fan, I still think we need more upgrades in defense. Bailly was a good get IMO, but Smalling is talented but inconsistent and there's very little depth behind. I cannot wait to see how the team is with Pogba and Zlatan already doing Zlatan things. It's gonna be a great year!

Was definitely referring to Bayern in the UCL. No way Bayern loses the Bundesliga w/ Ancelotti in charge.

Mourinho has already been complaining that the team is still stained with the LVG mentality. Obviously up top they will have an amazing circus, though I'm not sure Pogba is gonna be doing all the flicks and tricks from Serie A in the prem. But if there's one man who can turn such a talented attack into a boring display of bus parking, it's Jose.

I've decided to watch more BPL this season, as I can almost never find Bundesliga games and would prefer to watch a bit more. Debating whether I should arbitrarily root for a random team or just enjoy the drama. Leaning towards the latter.

Pogba was filming in the locker room and Ibra walked into the frame and proclaimed, "Now I'm going to make you famous"

pogba was being interviewed after the match yesterday and the reporter asked about the play at the end where it looked like he was set up to score, and ibra said, next time you will pass the ball

This is going to be a fantastically entertaining season :D

Today was not "fantasy-good" even though my clubs won.

This is what I dislike about fantasy pools; you end up pulling for teams/results that you'd otherwise have no interest in except for the sake of pool performance.

On another note, this thread has been quiet. Too quiet.

Except he's spending it on mediocrity. I highly doubt Lucas Perez is some late bloomer that snuck under the noses of Madrid and Barca and everyone else in the world that Wenger has somehow unearthed. He had one breakout season with 17 goals in la liga, most of which were left footed attempts and often set up by team mates. Sure he likes taking longer shots but that will be swiftly put to an end when he arrives to the training grounds in London because we rarely are allowing our players to have a go from distance. Meanwhile he continues his hatred of Campbell, sending him away again. Mustafi is not physically imposing, he's 180lbs at 5'11. Compare that to Hummels or Jerome Boateng who are 200lbs. I suspect he will get bullied by the more traditional sides, and of course our butchers in the medical office will be sure to deal with him as they are wont to do.

Last year was a gift, with every team in the prem playing poorly. We wasted our chance, and this year every one has been stacking up nice buys. Except us, as usual end of July panic buys paying way more than we would have had we negotiated earlier when we could have had the upper hand.
