Since this sold over the weekend, I'll add my best find here from this year.

1950's Hickey Freeman Vicuna overcoat (original post). Purchased for $7.50 because coats were 25% off that day.

Sold it this weekend for $1,200.

Vintage 50's Agostino Caraceni Tweed, with shotgun shell buttons. I bought it for the buttons, didn't even realize what I had at first.

Thought I was done with entries for this year. Just when I thought I was out....they pull me back in!

    Original post.

    $4.00

Got this Dunhill Tailors corduroy jacket this weekend. I really only grabbed it because I was drawn to the lining. It wasn't until I was shooting these pics that I really looked at the lining closely.

I am nominating Nataku for thrifter of the year. A lifetime achievement award if you will. As everyone knows he is a mensch. Always helpful, knowledge of obscure stuff, has been consistently finding solid finds over the year that I have e-known him. He is a real thrifter for the love of the sport. He would have been a thrifter even he had never flipped. I have seen people come and go, flame, fight, scorn etc etc, never Nataku. Always there, always kind to the newest person to the most pro, not a mean bone in his body. A real stabilizing presence on the thrift board.

With all the yip yapperin n jaw jabberin talk about the categories for these awards, I got lost as to whether or not "most improved" was something we sticking with.

If so, I would like to nominate EazyE. Yes I know he has been thrifting for a few years, but this guy has been absolutely killin it with the best of the best. He may never have 20-30 item hauls, but damn does he know how to pick em consistently. 1 2 or 3 at a time, and you know hes got that fire. And for the pure fact that a lot of his items he uses for himself or the wifey. He should just make a list of items and brands and quality descriptions of what hes gotten just this year alone. Luggage, 1ofaKind Sweaters, shoes, outerwear GALORE! So much awesome and unique rare outwear.

    MOST IMPROVED 2013!

Thanks....I'm truly humbled by this statement, but there have been far better finds than mine this year.
