The OCBD collar roll thread

The CEGO buttondown is quite good, authentic roll. Mine are made in a NJ factory. Carl has lots of maker options so I don't know that they are equally good. Geneva--great as they are--haven't got the BD quite right for me.

Mercer's collar is very, very good but the shirt overall is inferior to Carl's and costs more once I get all the extra fit adjustments.

Sometime in the 1940s, I think, Jack Wood ordered that the OCBD be converted to a "coat front" for marketing and sales reasons, their term for a shirt that opened all the way to the hem. Exactly right - great stuff, Vox. I'm still in the hunt for one of the true vintage BB popovers.

There's a couple dress shirt popovers around - I thought Hamilton 1883 did one, but I can't seem to find the picture right now (and maybe I'm just thinking of their s/s popovers).

This would be great - we need a steady supply of dress shirt popovers and one with a flap pocket would be even better.

Please stay on topic, this is about collar roll. My collar will be unfused, very lightly lined (as will the cuffs) and will roll like a ball.

Does a BD collar really need lining? Mine don't have them, at least some of them don't. The bands all do, though.

In between. The Italians are too big and wide, the BB too small.
