sorry ive been MIA ... traveling at the moment

i washed my light blue oxford but havent worn it afterwards. i dont think it changed at all, but i will find out tomorrow night when i get home.

the liberty of london and the new tattersalls DID NOT shrink noticably different than any other shirt would. so yeah not sure whats going on with everyone

Mine appear to be about the same in terms of the waist measurement (the new tattersalle vs japan blue). Are people hot washing and then throwing these in the dryer or something?

i don't think that the shirts are actually cut slimmer, but the shrinkage is a problem. i gave my light blue oxford that i received on saturday a wash on sunday after i wore it around, and the waist has shrunk enough so that it feels overly tight. on my liberty of london shirt (paisley, not geo), the waist shrunk about 2" total as well. for my liberty of london paisley shirt it turned out not to be a big deal since i ordered a size too large, and the shrinkage actually made it turn out fine. however, the blue oxford that i ordered TTS this time has shrunk a lot in the waist and i can't comfortably wear it now.

Shrinking two inches is a lot, even with a loose-weave fabric, no? (Not saying I don't believe you guys, it's just strange.)

+1 How are you washing it that it will cause so much shrinkage?

i think some of the newer shirts were overdarted causing a slimmer waist to begin with. a little bit of shrinkage after a wash would exaggerate the effect even more.

    some measurements:

tattersail (washed twice): 20.5" at the waist
blue oxford (never washed, never worn): 20.5" at the waist
old grey oxford: 21" at waist
