This has been in the works for a while, but looks like the 346 address is hitting the market.

that’s a shame. I spent a lot of time in that area and would like to go into brooks brothers and Paul Stuart during lunch breaks.

+1, no longer working around that area, but used to able to hit Alden Madison/BB/Paul Stuart/Kamakura during lunch break. I guess only Paul Stuart and Alden Madison stands now

edit: that same link got a story about JPM taking down 270 Park Ave, that's a huge building to take down and rebuit

apparently carmina has a shop there now too (in the rosey hotel). I could spend hours there.

We had our stock jackets made by Linett. Brooks 346 jackets were made by Linett. They had a range of patch Madras made by Linett. We had about 50, which was a lot of one jacket for Chipp.

We sold out in a few weeks. Brooks couldn't sell their stock. In the sill of the night - it was about 9:00 PM , in those days everyone closed at 6:00 - we went across the street and carried all the Brooks jackets to our shop.

After changing the labels we sold them all.

Chipp always attracted a somewhat more eccentric clientele within the Ivy context.
Me, for example. I would never have gotten "patch jackets". But they, and Paul Stuart
and Press at times had more interesting merchandise than BB. No one mentioned
Dunhill tailors, a true bespoke house that also sold OTR and MTM. Their basic cut
was also natural shoulder, but a bit more shaped w/ default side vents in the 80s.
I had one of their least expensive summer suits. They catered to the "masters of the
universe set" as well as older finance/ lawyer types. A major attraction in their very
clubby store was the furnishing department, usually staffed by very tastefully dressed
gorgeous young women. I still have ties and a shirt or two purchased under their spell.

I hate how ultra dense Manhattan is becoming more ultra dense. What does
not seem to equate is that these projects fly in the face of what many perceive
to be a work from home revolution. It will not be the first time that real estate
developers and investors reveal themselves to be idiots, who ultimately are
bailed out by the government. Should that occur, I look forward to these towers
being re-purposed to housing welfare families, the homeless and others of society's
left behind.

They sell a **** ton of accessories like glasses, fragrances, and makeup and skin care. Supposedly the makeup and skincare make up a large portion of their sales.

I don’t think fragrance and beauty products are part of the same organization. In most cases they’ve licensed their brands to one of the big luxury players who operates it.
