FW18 lookbooks posted on nepenthes japan (thanks @Sieglinde) for various brands

Needles

South2 West8

Rough and Tumble

AiE

AiE absolutely killing it this season. I really wish there were more places to pick that brand up, as it's been the standout of the nepenthes labels the last few years. Everything about this particular season feel like a country-western take of Soloist that is significantly more wearable without the treatments and tight cuts. Also really enjoy how the lookbooks from this brand pair plaids

RANDT has been capturing some of my favorite elements of EG's early 201x collections, and the shirting is really fantastic in a way that EG hasn't been pushing lately. The styling is typical nepenthes fashion. Standouts IMO this season are the faux-suede pants and B-3, and the dickie turtle neck.

Needles styling is the same as it's always been. Feels like we're seeing a basic evolution of pieces we've seen in the last few seasons, and more push of the sportswear side. Is Needles Sportswear still a separate thing?

South2 West8 remains consistent as always.

Some of my favorites in the spoiler

What North American stockists (other than Nepenthes) carry Rough & Tumble and AiE?

Yeah AiE is dope. Though if anything it reminds me more of old Number (N)ine than Soloist. All the browns/beige, plaids on plaids, more streetwear-ish.

Goodhood here in the UK has a couple of AiE pieces.

Recently I picked up The New Order magazine that has an extensive feature on Nepenthes and all of their brands due to its 30th aniversary.
Among other things they reveal on opening a first European outpost in London beginning of 2019 and possibly a new US store in LA.

Might put up some scans later, if any of you guys are interested.

Took me just over a year to get the AiE Velveteen Krazy Parka and Pants from FW17. I think this should spark joy until the day I die? Paired with the velveteen game vest which I picked up for a song. I love this crazy label, reading all about each brand in the Nepenthes feature in the recent New Order Mag revived my appreciation and love for everything they do. Even though I'm branching out to different designers, I always find myself searching for AiE, EG, Needles, and S2W8 when I'm trying to fire up my Japanese proxies.

Speaking of leopard print stuff, does anyone have the Needles leopard down jacket from last fall? How warm is it?

On a bit of a Needles kick of late. Grabbed the bear boa fleece jacket in beige and the purl stitch cardigan in navy from canoe club, two brown plaid cotton linen cabana shirts from this season, and a leopard hooded bush jacket to satisfy my leopard itch.

I tried this S2W8 waxed cotton coach jacket at a loftman store in kyoto japan. Unfortunately they didnt have my size (small) and the medium size was just too baggy/puffy for my liking.

Having trouble finding a store that will send internationally. Wonder if someone on SF is from Japan and may be able to help me out....

You can use Zenmarket to proxy items from Japanese online stores... they have an affiliate thread here with info (and discount code). I've used them before with success.

https://www.styleforum.net/threads/...enmarket-jp-official-affiliate-vendor.518233/

There are other similar services available like Fromjapan if you want to compare options.

^^That's really nice. I'd forgotten about S2W8 but now I think I need to poke around a bit and see what's out there. I had a sunchaser back about 10 years ago that I loved.

I still need to check out the London store. Too busy with work the last time I was in town. They have quite a bit of South2West8 I think.
