I saw the first one; completely gapped the second. The first was okay; kinda contrived at times, but it entertained me.

(You've got to factor in all the chemicals that have run through my system, though. I am often entertained by air moving.)

I liked the first 2, but it wasn't amazing. It reminded me of "Psych" without the comedy and the buddy aspect.

There wasn't much mystery in figuring out who the killer was in the first one. The second one was better overall.

FWIW, I'm pretty excited to see the new Max Payne movie.
I believe it loosely follows the same cliched plotline.

Glad I'm not the only one. Is he truly a mentalist, ie. batshit insane?

Well actually, that's the premise for the main character in ABC's competing show titled, oddly enough, The Batshit Insanist.

This show is meh. This is how the episodes play out:

mentalist figures it out, team doesn't believe him
goes out on his own and traps the killers (but gets in trouble!!)
gets rescued

Haven't seen it, but reading minds doesn't play out well on TV. I'd much rather watch Numbers, which is similarly contrived, but at least there is some explanation.

Just to bump this, did anyone else know the female detective was wearing a BOO brown plaid button down in Episode 4?
