I prefer the plain ones (without piping) as you know. I noticed two 'new' colors in their recent offerings : olive, and beige. Not really dark but different.

I don't know who chooses FP colours,I thought that a plain one in light blue or royal or red might have been a good idea but instead we get olive or camel,as you say its different but not what I want for the summer.
I notice that they have done another collaboration with Arktis, more camo, again not for me.

Yes, not for me either, even if they look good. Not age appropriate IMO.

A plain red would be nice indeed. I've said it before, the first FP i had in 1980 was a 3b plain red with a white laurel. IIRC it was made in Belgium !

I regret a MiE Plain Yellow they did two years ago. I should have bought it!

I like the look of those MrK.
I don't have a pair of brown or burgundy brogues in smooth leather and I was considering buying the AS Shoreditch in a sale, however after thinking about it I have realised that although brogues are my favourite type of shoe I now wear boots (brogue or chukka type) more often in the winter and loafers more often in the summer.
I am now thinking about clothes that I like and buy and clothes that I buy and actually wear.
Yes, it is important to make that distinction. One that I often struggle with, sometimes buying things that are nice to own (like my Tricker's velvet slippers) but which get very little wear...

Handy for overnight sittings in the House of Lords perhaps?

Yes, J. Press’s sale is pretty great at the moment; I wish the Cambridge shop hadn’t closed last year.
Theirs and O’C’s construction is excellent, usually made by Southwick. You can’t lose with either brand(except your hard-earned).
I have blazers by both companies, and their construction is miles better than today’s BBros. I dig their fit, too.
People here would provably go for the Jpress “modern” fit, as it’s more shaped than their traditional undarted models.
Any idea where the Cambridge alterations guy went? He is awesome.

No. Last time I was there, one of the guys mentioned that the alterations tailor didn’t have a new job lined up. That was about a year ago so I pray he got new work.

:(. He's the only guy I would trust to do a complex re-fitting. Better than some of the original SR shops for that. He was trained in bespoke back in Poland.

I never knew his background, but he did a hell of a job taking in some trousers on a suit from there and a couple jackets. A master craftsman!

I am also trying to leave messages at other J Press stores in case they have info. Or are they all out of commission, too?

I went to Uniqlo to see their new collab collection with JW Anderson. Only one item interesting for 'us' IMO (of course i would never wear it on the Tartan side), it is the 'reversible ribbed blouson', a cotton light bomber jacket. I tried one, it is a good fit, and TTS.

There is also a sand/beige version, that has a nice Tartan check/color, Madras style.
