Generally keeping to a minimalist and 'back to my roots' approach Cleav. In the last six months just three shirts, one white tunic (befitting my end of the look) and one blue and one pink in twill, semi-cutaway, that will look good with a suit or under a crombie/chesterfield, next on the list. Saw the Ramone(s) twice in the last week so feeling great! Did you give the braces a go?

Mate, not yet on the braces. May have to be on NYE with the DJ.

Recent purchases for me are two John Smedley cardigans, one sleeveless.

Not seen a live band for a while, bet that was good. Pretty envious.

Clarks shoes...on Mod to Suedehead,Ed mentioned Clarks longwings in a sale, the pictures looked nice so I had a look at Clarks site.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a few pairs of brogues longwing and the more traditional style, both look well made and very well priced at £110,but then there are reductions and if you have a shop around some places are offering the tan longwings ( pebbled leather) for £70 !.

Be interesting to know who is making these shoes and I would like to see some "in the flesh", I know the old saying "if it seems to good to be true it probably is",but I shall reserve judgment until I have seen some, shame they don't do a plain cap in the tan leather the search goes on.

Interesting. I have a decent Clarks shop nearby and will have a look.

I must own up to buying the Poste dark brown Italian-made Oxfords. Not tried them on yet but they look very good.

Season's Greetings to you and yours!

Just noticed that the sale in Office is now on,the elusive gibsons and other Poste shoes are reduced from £110 to £50 ! probably more like their true value I expect..

Whoops sorry Mr Knightley,I was writing as you posted, hope that you didn't pay the full price for your Poste shoes, let us know what they are like.
BTW,I notice that Clarks are also doing a pair of longwing boots in tan pebbled leather, now I like brogue boots and I like longwings but I am not sure about a longwing boot myself.

Yes seasons greetings to all the contributors to the thread ( and Mod to Suedehead )..I hope that you all get what you want for Christmas but if you don't theres always the January sales..

Well I just went out shopping and had a look at the Clarks longwings,I like the tan ones ( and the boots),they seem quite well made I looked but there was no clue as to who made them,if they go into the sales I will have to have a pair.
I also got a rollocking from my good lady as a parcel had been delivered to the neighbours and I opened it,a lovely Lyle and Scott lambswool blue tartan / check scarf just what I wanted.

Stop taunting me Cleav! I know these are some sort of special, closest I could find in a C&J shop was the Coniston which I liked but for the toecap (and the lack of a black option). Do yours have the speedhooks? - permitted development in my view (for the functionality). Wearing my 8 hole Solovairs this winter, even at my age boots and short hair gets noticed lol.

I get you re the Coniston, though I like these. Though you don't fancy em in blue? :smarmy:

Mine don't have speed hooks but my old Grensons do, 29 years old next January

Compliments of the season to you and yours!

I would blacken the blue no problem, it's the toecap that says no to me. Don't Like brogue boots either so I guess I just don't like detailing on boots.

Happy Christmas Cleav and all the rest of you (sick of hearing Christmas was a pagan holiday, it is 9 months after Annunciation so work it out lol)
