I assume you didn't have them turned up? Tbh I don't envy my alterations tailor when I bring in those 19oz Lee. He might outright refuse, of course.

No, I rarely wear turn ups/cuffs on jeans these days. I’ve had the pair for aboyt three years, and though I tend to rotate my jeans, these are STILL like iron. Oh, and they’re actually 21 ounces when raw, then after first wash they somehow gain weight.

I think your tailor might want to opt for a railroad spike instead of a needle when sewing in turn ups!!

And on a similar note I recently received an advert for Suitsupply’s summer linen collection, extolling the virtues of how cool it wears for the hot months ... and all the models are wearing jumpers under their jackets!

Back around to the "go-to-hell" look, and the talk of "fun shirts", critter pants, etc., here's an eyefull courtesy of Ivy Style:

Not sure what happened to the fellow second from the right, but anyways, yeah, some insane technicolor vomit nightmare trousers on display here.
Seems very mid-Atlantic coast or Charleston, South Carolina style here-- New England is far too conservative for this crap anymore.

Found some vintage Lacoste ruperts on US ebay that are very much that style.

I met a chap actually called Rupert last year who was wearing trousers that I now know, thanks to this thread, are known as ruperts. Missed an opportunity for a nice pun there...

Looks great, @Man-of-Mystery ! Seems a superb fit.

Perhaps a slight sheen to the fabric? I love that Grenfell lining.
