A strange cult-like place, the leader occasionally emerging like a Pallas's Cat to berate his followers before returning to his seclusion

    PS Hermès.jpg
This PS (i wear on my 'Parisian Ivy' picture) was a gift from my father. He told me he bought it in the 40s 'Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré', he didn't mention the name of the shop but most probably it was at the Hermès historical first shop, still standing there since the 1880s, where he had his old habits.
No need to say it is one of my most prized possession.

That is a lovely hanky Monsieur. Your father must have been a stylish man.

I would have liked to have been on the podium too! But content with my result and thanks for your support gentlemen.

Actually, I did resort to some RL - the BD and pine marl v neck are both PRL.

I guess we would expect someone from across the pond to win an Ivy challenge and AAS is an Ivy enthusiast - obviously...

It is a strange coincidence but in my FC outfit my pocket hanky was also a vintage piece - Giorgio Armani from A/W 1983 / 84. Not my dad's but one of my favourite pieces and which still resides in its original box.

I took this pic of it for one of my first FCs 'No Blue', from 2014, I think. The tie is typical 80s Armani and the watch a 1950s Auguste Reymond:

...and thinking about the next Challenge, red was a big part of the Look back in the day - red pocket hank, red socks, red botany wool v necks from M&S, red Smedley-type ‘Caravels’ etc. Anyone going for it?

I had recently a discussion with a friend on the Chunky loafers subject.
We are both looking for chunky tassels, no kiltie and no basketweave.
In the time, Frank Wright did some. They only do shitty models now.
Do you have an idea of actual models ? I saw some Grenson approaching a few years ago, but the leather was plasticky.
The model we find the closer to what we are searching are the Church's Oreham (i have a pair, but they are kiltie. Please don't tell me i just have to cut the fringes, that is not an option :-D)

    My actual loafers collection

Bass Weejuns, Solovair, DMs, Church's Oreham, Otisopse, Fred Perry

Looks like another TLGO event - 'show us your loafers'. You have more fringe and tassel in your collection than I would have imagined, Inspector.

The only 'chunky' ones I have seen that I like are the Sebago tassels but not sure whether they have deteriorated since I bought mine 10 years ago - may be worth a look?

I do love that watch Mr K.
I'm working on a couple of similar ones. They are in no way near finished/useable yet.
(I'm not repairing them for other folk, they're mine)

They look very nice - can't quite see the make from your pic?

I took this picture of mine the other day:
