As a stutterer myself, I really want to see this too. Will probably just break down and go solo tomorrow night.

I stuttered as a child and after several years with a speech pathologist that's all way behind me (except sometimes when flustered). The film was a poignant reminder of my past while also being one of the best films I've seen in a long time.

Saw the film today with the missus and we were gobsmacked at its brilliance. Bonham Carter was a bit weak as QEI - my only criticism. The tension created when the King's speechs had to be given was wonderful and exciting.

anything that encourages the proliferation of the Australian accent has my complete support. Now I want to see it.

Really? I thought she was quite good. I found the depiction of the Duke of Windsor quite interesting. They also made him quite tall as compared to real life.

I thought we already had a thread about this...

Anyways, I saw The King's Speech in early December and found it to be the best movie I had seen all year thus far; though I haven't caught True Grit yet. The interplay between Rush and Firth is fantastic and the supporting cast was very strong. The film simply engrosses you from the score to the cinematography.

Excellent.

she also had the challenge of not overshadowing everybody else. I think that she did a good job.
