Watched them all through mid nineties. Loved their stuff. The most original and artistic sketch comedy with elements of macabre and absurdity.
Most original and funniest show since Monty Piton.

Watched it again yesterday and was very entertained and surprised how fresh it looks. Acting , cinematography and production on some episodes are unbelievable .

Styleforum members may especially appreciate the business suit trappers. Classic skit.

Unfortunately nothing made today comes close to that level of writing. Everything has been downhill since Kids in the Hall.

BTW, a bit of trivia: the later season featured the opening shots done on the grounds of the former town hall of the city of North York, ON.

My Pen!

This was the only must-watch show and was certainly the most quoted show of the early 90's for me.

To assist me, I'd like to introduce... Manservant Hecubus!

Glad to see there are others who really got this show. I get incredibly excited everytime an alumnus shows up in a guest spot somewhere.

Bullshit. Family Guy, South Park, Metalocalypse, Tim and Eric, Venture Brothers, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, to name a few. Kenny vs. Spenny is also hilarious, but it's low brow and isn't really "written," per se.

I used to record as many episodes as I could because I was afraid at some point they would no longer be re-run on TV and I wouldn't be able to see them anymore. I had tapes and tapes of KITH.

Obviously I didn't foresee the trend of releasing on DVD every instant of every show ever broadcast.

Anybody go see them live when they toured? I was a bit disappointed as it was just them doing old sketches with no new material. But it was still cool to see them live.

Saw Kevin MacDonald the other day in a Seinfeld re-run. He was "denim vest guy" and Elaine had a thread going with him.

I remember that one. Dave Foley is perhaps the most famous alumnus, and he was on one of the more underrated sitcoms of all time, News Radio. Kevin MacDonald guested as his knife-throwing nemesis, Throwdini, I think.

Don't forget he was a reverend on "That 70's Show" too. He gave off a real creepy vibe in that role.
