If they got rid of that guy bellowing over the top of the tracks then it would be a great Eno/Lanois record.

I had been a fan since War, and when the Joshua Tree came out it was summertime and I was stuck at the house without a ride. I hopped the city bus to to the nearest mall and bought the Joshua Tree on cassette. The ride back home took forever!

I got home and listened to it three times, one right after the other.

And then every f#cking Depeche Mode fanboy found it and ruined U2 for me.

One of the best rock albums, for sure. Half of the songs are incredible. My favorite has to be "With or Without You".

With or Without You, one of my top ten fave pop/rock songs of all time.

Running to Stand Still also f*ckin' amazing.

and don't mind the haters that say it's overplayed. it is a classic.

I think the whole album is amazing. It's hard for me to choose a favorite song, so I'll go with the bass line from One Tree Hill.

I was dating a stunning young thing who got tickets to the L.A. concert. We went and she announced she had scored 5 tickets and would sell the extras at the entrance. So we went and I bought her the black and gold tshirt after paying for my ticket
confused.gif
She sold the tickets and proceeded to whisper all night with her new found friend, some asian american UCLA student. I later learned she had a thing for asian guys and broke up with me for him- after asking me to pay for my ticket a second time, as she had secretely given this cutie the ticket.
eh.gif
I refused and left just as he pulled up. He gave me a smirk, I gave him a look of compassion for his new high maintenance toy and mentioned a certain birthmark her first time intimacy with a guy revealed. He was all set to
boxing[1].gif
. I just laughed and held him back like Bugs Bunny leaning against Elmer Fudd. I really tried listening to U2 after that, but memories and Bono's hubris became to much. ' I'm just irish, but that's o.k. Don't let reality, get in my waaaay, get in my waaaay, you know I'm important.'

One of the few albums I can listen to from the first song to the last. Fits together perfectly.

One of the best ever...
