Yeah to be honest, unless the design is ******* top not and wild, I won't touch 1k boots again. I'd rather just get some whites or something haha.

The irony is that although I love boots, I may have to get rid of stuff as my move to NYC has made it way harder to wear boots vs sneakers.

I’m in a similar boat at the moment. I can get mostly what I want from Alden and or whites but I’ll still dabble in some niche stuff.

You may want to hang onto boots for all the inclement weather we get in nyc, especially random rain. I’ve pretty much only worn Alden and whites and they’ve held up great even in the crappy streets/sidewalks

I will say this about Clinch and NYC walking - I wore my Clinch engineers for most of our scouting days, walking 8-12 miles per day around SoHo with no blisters and just a lil soreness. I still drag those boots with me on every trip out too.

I love my boots and I probably won't get rid of anything. I also can't wait to see my Clinch boots next year. However the thing that makes it hard to wear my boots is that I hate commuting by train so I bike everywhere on a fixed gear bike or a skateboard. Boots are not super ideal, although I do sometimes put them in my backpack and switch shoes when I get to wherever Im going.

So yeah you'll often see me sitting outside of a building changing from sneakers/cycling shoes to engineers. I'm committed to the boot aesthetic.

Man, that is committed. I can’t stand taking anything with me that I don’t absolutely require, like doing exclusively carry-on since I started overseas travel in the early 90s (except for the one time I picked up a Roberts frame from Croydon).

I tend to be the same way, but I spent all this money on these boots. Now that I've moved from a small city where I can walk anywhere in 30 minutes to a massive place where even the smallest thing can require 30 minutes to an hour on a bike or train, I'm definitely feeling the pressure.

Fixie life and boot life don’t mix well. Which is why as soon as I moved to suburbia and stopped riding my fixie except for fun I started buying too many boots ?
