Loving all this paraboot talk! Just ordered the Avignon from Clutch Cafe. I'll end up with a pair of Michael at some point but for my first Paraboot purchase it was between the Chambord or Avignon. I wanted something that could do business casual/casual for work.

Slightly gutted. My Paraboot's arrived from Clutch today and they sent me the wrong shoe. I ordered the suede Avignon but received the Michael in Marron. It looks like my size in the suede Avignon is now out of stock and I can't find it anywhere. Good prices by ordering from Clutch BTW.

If the sizing for the Michael and Avignon are the same, I may have sized incorrectly anyway. According to Paraboot's site, they recommend a half size down. I'm normally a 11US/10UK so I went with the 9.5UK/43.5EU. Fits a hair too snug so I'm wondering if I should go up to the 44EU next time around.

The Michael is the only one with different sizing increments and so it's not easy to translate between it and any of their other models. The last is also different.

I have the Chambords in an 11.5 and tried the Michael in a 45 and it was too squat at the toes. I'm a 12 D US, more or less, but have flat feet.

Put it on!
I’ll take some pics of the cardigan tomorrow and post them! The trousers I’ll take in to get tailored on Monday.. by far the heaviest wool trousers I’ve experienced. Like leg blankets ?

View attachment 1710301 View attachment 1710302 Looping back to the Paraboots, I just received the Chambord today. Really like the look of them. I'd say they fit slightly large TTS with a bit of heel slip, but I do think that will calm down once they are broken in and I am wearing athletic socks currently so thicker socks could eradicate that completely. The Cafe is a versatile color. There is a flaw in the stitching on the inside. It is annoying visually, but not the end of the world. Does anyone think this would pose a problem down the line?

Yes, in the circle above you can see they are frayed. It's not something most people would notice but I just want to know if that would be a structural problem down the road
Pretty sure mine present with the same. I believe that's where the stitching has been finished off between the two ends of the welt. Admittedly not clean but It doesn't appear structurally unsound to me.

dang. I wore them out tonight and very comfy out of the gate, really no break-in time. I will have to get used to the wider toe box which makes them feel slightly looser than equivalent sized shoes but not sure I could get away with going down anymore.

Interesting that you find them wider in the toe box – I feel they're a bit narrow. This may be because I sized down to account for the volume and my flat feet, but I wouldn't expect a half size up to be much wider.

I'm actually not sure if I went TTS or not. I am a US 8.5 and ordered a UK7.5, which according to some size charts is TTS, according to others is half size down. I do have standard D width, but I guess I'm coming from wearing my RM Williams which I find narrower, as well as some Sid Mashburn shoes which definitely have a pointier toe box. Certainly is comfortable though

@ojaw Quick fit pic of the cardigan.. it’s too cold to wear out today, but I totally dig it. Even tho it’s wool, it’s not terribly thick.

Nice, I’ve been inspired by Scott Fraser to go that way but my lifestyle doesn’t really lend itself to it. Though that hasn’t kiboshed foolish purchases in my past.

You might try one of the thin leather and cork innersoles. It takes up a bit of the excess volume in the toe box.

Super jacked on coffee and wanting my second Wythe donegal sweater to come in from NMWA so I can compare with the XL I got from Wythe direct. Also I want my Wythe beach cloth vest. And, like, a purpose outside of clothing.
