I tried out the resolute 714s, really nice denim. I've definitely gone through various style changes over the years, this is probably my longest lasting and generally out of a sense of comfort and utility. A few years ago I was wearing brands like officine generale, ami, de Bonne facture etc, often in much slimmer fits. At the time I thought I'd be wearing those clothes forever, funny how things change.

Officine Generale and ami were where I was at the beginning of this latest and longest segment in my jawnz career, starting in 2016. I've blown through some iteration of every style, fit and size since then, it feels like.

My former psychiatrist believed it the reflection of an identity crisis. I just like pants.

Nice cop with the Mister Freedom jeans, sad to hear about the leather patch placement change especially considering that no one that buys Mister freedom would even consider something from Wrangler or vice versa.

I still have a set of midnight denim jacket and pants and although I still wear the jacket, the pants will need to be sold. The thighs are just so tight. Once they shrunk, I definitely realized I needed to size up maybe twice to go there thigh measurement that felt comfy.

I'll probably sell the set one day since even the jacket is staring to get a little tight and I prefer my Black Sign denim anyway

I do not date venture to Hokkaido in the winter. I'm a summer boy.

It's probably crap, MF is so pricy out here. It's like even the Japanese made stuff feels so expensive. I should check Mercari...

Does anyone know who makes the most faithful reproduction of the Brown's Beach jacket?
Most likely Fullcount as they are reproducing the BB garments as a regular offering/brand.

Theres other brands that do beach cloth garments, McCoys had for awhile produced the iconic vest, as well as a jacket. Freewheelers has made other stylized garments in beach cloth although not the traditional BB designs.

It's not so much that it's steep, I think the prices are the same if you factor in exchange rate but when a pair of jeans is 48,000 yen and you make yen, you can feel it a bit more. Especially when I can get other denim brands for half that amount.

Speaking of which I finally got my jodhpurs from Brass and they were a pain to put on and once I got them on I noticed that the leather ripped. Sucks for a boot that expensive. They fit but I guess maybe I messed it up on the way in. Should've done the bag trick, I'm reaxhing out if they can assist but probably gotta take it to my local guy and deal with some unsightly stitching

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
