Not important at all, but tangentially related to this thread - I popped into my local vintage shop and found a pair of Ooe Yofukuten buckle back jeans (great condition) and Freewheelers 601xx (totally beat) mixed in with the random Levi's and Dickies. On the cheap and in my size. So if anyone on this board happened to give these away...thank you.

Any opinions on the best OG-107 fatigues? Orslow, RMC, Buzz Ricksons, etc.? Looking for something nice and roomy, so as close to the original cut as possible.
Orslow and Buzz Rickson are great. I have fatigues from both that are wearing in really nicely and are comfortable from day 1. I'm also looking at these Buck Mason field pants- look nice and I've been happy with the quality from Buck.

Any comparison between the two would be appreciated! Which fit on the Orslow did you get?
I have the regular fit orslow in their used wash - best priced on reggieshop with the weak yen. The Buzz are herringbone utility pants, not technically fatigues but close enough. The obvious difference would be the material. The buzz are stiffer herringbone, whereas the orslow are super soft right off the bat. Color wise, the orslow are more saturated whereas the buzz are washed out looking. If I had to choose one, I would probably go with the orslow, they are my most worn pants besides denim.

I'm visiting Osaka in a month so I was planning on taking advantage of the weak yen while I was there, but I've also heard from a friend who was just there that Orslow is apparently hard to find in Japan because of how much of it is exported overseas. These look very much like what I'm looking for though, thanks! If anyone here has any advice regarding the most reliable place to find Orslow stuff in JP, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I was just in Japan back in November and I would echo the sentiment that Orslow was hard to find (Tangentially, Kaptain Sunshine as well) I don't know about Osaka (Beams maybe?) but in Tokyo I only went to one shop that stocked them and it was minimal at best. This was even after checking their stockist page on their website. Was hoping to try on some 105 denim, but couldn't find it.

I’ve tried stuff from RRL, Orslow, Buzz Rickson, Bronson, and Full Count.

My all around favorites are the utility trouser from Full Count - they have fantastic construction and very nice material. If you want a fuller leg, they’re also probably the best in that regard.

RRL fatigue trousers or jungle trousers or whatever they call them are very nice too but I don’t think the construction is quite as nice as the Full Count (I can almost always guarantee that the buttons will need to be reattached within a few wears). They rarely ever go on sale through Polo but can usually be found on discount from third party retailers like Stag or Blue Owl.

Buzz Rickson are great too, with a nice full cut. I’d say that the construction is usually on par with Full Count but the material doesn’t seem quite as nice.

iME, OrSlow has been hit or miss as they’re usually the hardest for me to size correctly and the leg wasn’t quite as full as I like. I also didn’t care for the shade of green theirs came in last time I bought some online and then got them in my hands. It’s been a few years since then though and I see now they have a couple different shades of green so YMMV. I will say that there construction was top notch so if the colors and the cuts work for you, they may be a good choice. As an aside, I’m wearing a pair of heavy wool 107-style utility trousers from OrSlow today and I absolutely love these. They seem to have a wider leg than any of the cotton ones from them that I’ve tried. I always get a lot of use out of these when the weather turns - temps were in the teens with some pretty good wind and I wore these today while out and about walking around 4 or 5 miles to get some lunch and do some shopping and my lower half never got cold.

The Bronson ones are the cheapest of the bunch and sizing on their trousers is sort of all over the place, but once you find the right size for you, they’re a pretty good deal. Construction and materials aren’t on par with the others mentioned above but they’re by no means bad. I will say that if you like a softer material, definitely stay away from their HBT 107s as they’re very stiff (the material seems like a good quality, just not broken in at all) and takes quite a few washes and wears to loosen up.

Somehow I'd not even considered Full Count at all, and they have an Osaka flagship location too! Thanks for the tip!

Hello everyone,

I have two questions:

1. Has anyone picked up anything from BUZZ RICKSON's recent WILLIAM GIBSON collection? Interested in hearing some thoughts, opinions, especially about the BLACK M-65 BR15626.

2. I am interested in picking up a pair of SUGAR CANE jeans, available in either W32 or W34. I'm between a W31-W33 with most RRL jeans. If anyone owns both SUGAR CANE & RRL jeans (or similar US brand), I'd be interested in what sizes you got – are they sized similarly, or should one size up with SUGAR CANE?

Will in the meantime read the recent posts in case Q1 has already been answered =]

Can you share your favourite pieces from Timeworn?

I shot them an email and they replied they have no catalogue, but can get back to me about the availability of certain products if I have photos of them that I gathered online.
Tales of Tomorrow magazine has most the products listed on the last pages

Went ahead and ordered the BUZZ RICKSON's x WILLIAM GIBSON black M-65 jacket & SUGAR CANE jeans. Went for W32 because it seems to be quite high rise, so probably safe to stick to W32 instead of sizing all the way up to W34. Was the final pair in W32. Was never fond of the ripped/repaired jeans style, but this one looks incredibly well done.

M-65 jacket size medium. I have a similar jacket from Real McCoys in size medium (perfect fit), I guess it's safe to assume sizing is similar.

What I love about those jeans is the attention to detail:

Searching for a BUZZ RICKSON's x WILLIAM GIBSON ma-1 slender 42 Long. I think That would be best as I want to wear it pretty relaxed. I am 6’ tall 165. typically a large in t shirts and outerwear as I prefer to layer but mediums often fit too.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
