Is comparing Orslow M-65 vs The Real McCoy's M-65 worth the debate?
Maybe. Assuming you are looking at RMCs M-65 without epaulets, the color is different and length is shorter than orSlow. Other than that, they are very similar jackets.

I had both and kept the orSlow because I like the color better. It also cost less so that's a plus.

actually I think you just answered that to me. I think I prefer RMCs with epaulets and Orslow doesn't have them. I will have to think that over because I think on my body it would look better without, but I like it more with. Orslow is possible to get with a great discount sometimes and RMC basically impossible. Material and construction quality is similar?

Hi guys, could someone remind me of the great webstore that ships out of Japan directly for Real McCoys and obscure sweatshirts? White background site, kind of Web 2.0

Just saw this on IG. Looks like full count is increasing their prices next month.. some of these are quite drastic. I wonder if other companies will be doing the same

Time to stock up on a couple pair of their Army Chino. They are by far my favorite chino out there (their "Utility Trouser" is equally fantastic).

From what I remember about the RMC, the quality of the orSlow feels similar though I did not scrutinize them for differences.

For what it's worth, I handled a vintage M65 and, if I had a do-over, I would just pick up a vintage one because it cost a lot less than repros and it already has the wear and tear that makes the jacket look better.

You gave me something to think about it. And I think you are right! Are vintage og military M-65 even better quality than repros? From what I did quick search I think I will go with vintage WWII or Vietnam era US Arm M-65. Now just need to take time and find the perfect one.

I have an M65 from RMC and also a vintage one, and the cloth is very similar (almost identical) regarding color and robustness, but the RMC one is a little bit softer (more luxurious) to the touch. The hardware and buttons are of comparable quality, but on the RMC they are obviously new and therefore less prone to failure. The stitching is smoother and the overall finish is neater on RMC, therefore RMC is more suitable for the city wear and the vintage one more suitable for the country wear in my opinion (but both of them can be used in both environments). Overall, I'd say the RMC reproduction is at least as good as the vintage one.

My understanding is that the originals for military repro weren't of particular quality – they were volume production to sustain armies fulfilled by a wide variety of manufacturers. The stitching, zippers, velcro, etc. are going to be less precise on an original vs. a Real McCoy's repro. That said, I've never felt a vintage M65 that didn't feel sturdy. The biggest issue is fit: due to the size of people in the 40s-70s it's hard to find one that fits if you are a larger or taller individual such as myself.

It was actually neither of those, but thanks for the suggestions! Next vortex discovered!

Well which one was it?

How does Real McCoys quality of their outerwear compare to lets say Manifattura Ceccarelli or Private White?

Never really ordered direct from Japan but it seems like I'd get a much better deal on some RMC ordering from a store like this, is that the case?
THIS store (Celluloid 1984) specifically. They are the only store I have found that removes tax for RMC purchases and charges like $30 to ship. So for stuff over $200, you are paying JP prices for it shipped and much less when you buy the nicer stuff. I got that blue flannel for $222 shipped and the retail would have been about $217.

Barnstormer uses a proxy that adds some fees and they don't remove tax. So the price comes out above JP pricing.

That said, buying from shoplostfound.com will get you the most competitive pricing if you are based in the US and dont want to buy from Japan.
