I'm really coming around to fun knitwear. Kind of a nice alternative to a denim jacket or otherwise for Spring.
Speaking of knitwear for spring, I’ve been looking at this lately and I can’t decide if I love it, or the energy is way too much Ray Liotta

Anyone have thoughts on TCB denim? Price point seems super reasonable and the 60s cut looks like it'll fit me perfectly. I have heavier weight stuff, so 13oz is intriguing plus I'm kinda over high contrast fades

can anyone recommend somewhere that does chain stitch hemming in nyc?

Denim Therapy in Midtown do denim alterations in general and can re-attach the original hem for extra.

Self Edge use a tailor up the street from them who I've had do repairs for me and are good. Not sure about re-attaching original hems.

Williamsburg can probably do the same, but I'd check.

In all cases, if you have them tapered at all and they're selvedge, you want them to take it from the inseam and not the outseam, so as to preserve the self edge.

The one thing I'll say about the French Riviera/Talented Mr. Ripley vibe - which I dabbled in last Summer - is it's not easy to pull off with just one piece. Those types of flared-collar, knit polos lend themselves better to high-rise semi-formal trousers and loafers, floppy hats, etc. Obviously there's some wiggle room to modernize a little, but it does kind of paint you in the corner.

You might check out Christopher Pizarro's gram if you haven't already.

Or yea, Scott Fraser for the flowier version.

@whorishconsumer is correct, I like TCB Jeans a lot. I own 3 pairs and 2 shirts.

Sizing is an issue. I am a 34 in most vanity sized jeans, and a 36 in their 40's and 50's cut. I also bought their 60's cut in size 36 and clearly I should have got a 34. They don't fit me well, bagging tremendously at the front. I would absolutely love them if they were my size.

Most shirts and jackets are not sized to your chest size. Don't buy a 44 if you have a size 44 chest, for instance. They are sized to garment sized, which is somehow unusual. Worst even, some shirts are sized "regularly" to the wearer size. Always consult the size chart and ideall reach out to the sales rep @rn182. He's a great guy.
