I'd go for a semi-brogue Derby (or Blucher I think the yanks calls it). In a light shade. Like this one from EG in Whiskey.

Most multi-purpose shoe I own is Churchs Shannon in Burgundy Cordovan, works with many different colours of suit + blue/black jeans & grey/khaki/brown casual trousers. Not quite Vass but they were 50% off when bought 16 years ago & still get regular use. So kind of ideal for me.

As someone mentioned above, the Ralph Lauren Darlton Wingtip. Easily my favorite go-to shoe.

I have exactly the same shoe Patrick - its perfect isn't it.

Really love the brown Darlton's too - never seen a C&J shell in that colour in the shops, sadly.

One of my other shell shoes is Church's Grafton in burgundy shell - the quality of the shell is second to none - easily my second fav shell shoe after my EGs. ( I have Grafton in black shell and Shannon in burgundy shell too).

Not sure what my actual ideal shell shoe is yet, but I ordered a pair of G&G Cambridges (punched captoe oxford) in dark cognac shell. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out!
