The ideal business casual shoe?

After surveying my shoe wardrobe, I realize that nearly all the shoes I have are balmorals in either black or dark brown (save for the AE Maxfield in chili). Looking for something to bridge the business casual/casual gap. Looking for something that would look equally good with dark jeans as well as tan chinos. What would be the ideal business casual shoe? Longwing blucher in tan pebble grain? Suede monk strap?

I like loafers for this application. Try the JM Weston 180 or the Polo Darlton penny loafer

Always tough to beat a suede monk strap. If you like that style then go for it. Works great with casual suits, trousers and jeans. Very versatile.

Monkstraps, loafers too casual, anything with laces too serious

I'd say monkstraps for sure, double monks even better. Some here frown upon loafers, I disagree. May be it's a generational thing, but being in my 30s I feel perfectly comfortable using loafers w a suit. More so, sometimes the loafers take the formality of suit a notch down making for a very pleasant combo. Just my $ .02
