Did anyone watch this? I know it ended a month ago but I only got around to watching all the episodes this past weekend.

I thought it had a good premise but was inconsistent in its execution. Some modernisms snuck into the script and the whole anti-feminist thing was extremely patronizing. The thing was it wasn't one episode that was bad, it was one episode that starts out good and then oscillates between good and bad till the end. The non-sexual relationship between Freddie and Bel for example was great but then ended on, in my opinion, such a poor note.

Anyway, I didn't find a thread on this so I thought I'd start one. Series two has already been commissioned apparently.

Of course, I was thinking someone would have wrote something about the costumes, roped shoulders, tweeds and braces of the time.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty accurate for what they were trying to represent. Good acting by the skinny guy and McNulty. The boss woman wasn't all that great, or great looking for that matter. Would definitely watch S2.

Series was great. Love the attention to detail.

You can see in the studios and bathrooms the posters for their shows hanging and etc..

episode 3 hunting scene was very nice as well, loved the outfits.

Overall the series was good, the ending wasn't a big surprise,
you could sort of tell from clarence's great acting that he was the russian spy, but the whole brightstone thing, i didn't think about Freddie being his brightstone

The actor who plays Freddie makes me look fat. It was comical seeing him borrow the other chap's tuxedo for dinner. Jacket size 36 would seem big on him.

As for the one who played Bel, she's not my type but has a bit of a spark. Incidentally, IMDB says she's born in Hong Kong.

Oops - wish I could have renamed the title of the thread. I was wondering when it was going to start since I saw it showed up on a BBC advert in the summer - thanks for the heads up.

It looks like all the major characters have been written back in including the Angus character. Romola Garai is apparently pregnant so I hope they finished shooting.

Well, the series finale just aired. I thought this time around the show was a lot tighter and the overarching storyline actually tied in most of the characters. Only the French wife got lost in the shuffle. The subplot between Lix and Randall was just as touching as the main one. It's too bad it ends on an ambiguous cliffhanger though. Apparently ratings have not been good for the BBC, and the future of the show is up in the air.

I wish I could see Oona Chaplin in more 1950s clothing.

Somehow they even turned Angus McCain into a redeemable character in the end.

It's on NetFlix already - the whole second series. Well, at least in Canada it is.

I just found out through YouTube Oona Chaplin does British shows, is born in Madrid and obviously speaks Spanish, but has a strange American accent with a few nuances attributed to the English side. So exotic. Being 26 also helps.
