@Isolation. Looks okay from the front, but to be honest, looks pretty nasty from behind.

Indeed better pictures but I remain of my previous view, too many faults to be worth going to this butcher again., Try Gordon Yao or even Chan or Y William Yu.

New photos are a lot better.

BespokeKiwi have summed it up pretty well. You have dropped right shoulder and your tailor should compensate it during fitting it also looks a tad wide. Waist has too much suppression. You need to take the coat back to your tailor and have them clean up the back and adjust the sleeve pitch.
On the styling front I understand you are going for a contemporary look but consider making the lapel wider it would look more balance. The front or quarters could be open up slightly as well. The coat also looks to have very padded shoulders perhaps ask for a more natural shoulder or lighter padded shoulder for your next commission.

Hi, does anybody know if any of the many tailors in HK have experience in what italians call "spalla insellata" (in english would be translated as "saddled shoulder")? I'm sure many of you know what I am talking about. It's a kind of shoulder quite popular in Naples starting from the 40's. I'm personally a fan of this kind of shoulder but it requires very decent tailoring skills, so I was wondering which tailor could do this for me in HK. Here an example (it's a Rubinacci jacket):
Here you go. http://www.styleforum.net/t/33568/the-hong-kong-tailors-thread/1125#post_7012360

isolation: besides, your taste in other things clearly deserves a higher quality tailor: I see a box set of BBC Shakespeare productions, the whole Game of Thrones series, a good movie collection, and bottles of port and Inniskillin icewine. Excellent choices all around. ;)

Chan Minnis 0520 Fresco basted

I know these pics aren't that good but still wanted to get feedback if possible. I didn't know how to pin anything. This is my first bespoke suit. I'll try to have pics taken at the actual fitting next week in San Francisco.

did you made the garment yourself?

I find the background confusing... You brought the baste fitting out from the workshop?

I think generally it is looking good.

I think WWChan shipped it to him before Patrick actually do the fitting in San Franscisco. It was their normal procedure if you want fitting in US.

Given that you can't fasten the pants properly, it's a bit difficult to judge them :)

No, I didn't make it myself; it's WW Chan. If you're in the US and ask for a fitting, he sends you the basted suit in the mail.

Haha thanks. I have the good fortune of having good things to appreciate.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I suppose the suit is serviceable for now, but I think I've felt something was off with it since I got it, just couldn't quite tell what precisely, so thanks for the help. I've been learning a lot from the forums and especially people who post in this thread so thanks.

I just got my Chan suit, I'm going to get it pressed and post a picture as requested when I can. It's black, which I hear is not that popular a color here, so please be prepared for that. =P

@ Limniscate: there is really not much to comment on at the basted stage; it looks generally fine and you just have to trust them. You can always check back here and post pics of the finished product. Will Patrick be doing the fitting?
