I would personally suggest Gordon Yao, very much the father figure I think that he would be easier given your knowledge. I think marginally the better suit as well.

I can vouch for Chan, especially if Patrick's around, so with GBR's recommendation for GY, seems like you really can't go wrong.

Chan is good.
I think GY a bit too mature for u-30 guy.

Btw, it seems takes longer time to get a suit done at Chan....
Price goes higher as well ..:-/

I've used Chan in the last but I fear that they have expanded too much and that Patrick is spread too thinly. I do not have that concern with Gordon.

Disagree, GY is fine with all demands, don't worry about that.

Two recent projects:

1. Jacket by Gordon Yao: Harrisons Saltire 97528, 3-roll-2, bilateral patch pockets, natural shoulders
Pants by Browns Tailor: Harrisons Flannel 39220, single forward pleated, 1 3/4" cuffed

2. 3-piece suit by Browns Tailor: Harrrisons Flannel 39220, slightly roped shoulders, Milanese buttonhole

Looks really nice... Quanto costa?

I've heard these claims in this thread of late. When, approximately, did this decline start? My last order from Chan was in the course of their summer tour in 2012, and I could not descry any noticeable decline in fit or quality in the suit I received a few months later.

Hello Gentlemen,

Without make any suits from Chan or Gordan Yao, I don't know I am qualify to make solid comments but please allow me to say something.

Long time ago, I went with a friend to have a fitting with Chan, Patrick fitted the jacket very nicely. It made me interested in Chan's work. Later, when Armoury newly opened, I dropped in and see Alan was wearing a Chan's suit. From my eyes, it was an excellent suit. Alan was very kind to explain Chan's work to me and let me see the jacket. Up to that time, it was the best suit which I had seen are made by a HK tailor. Recently, I have a friend who wear a suit made by Gordan, it fits very well providing my freind's body figure is difficult to fit. Both tailors are top in HK.

One major point for selection is Chan does not accept CMT while Gordan does. If I select an entry fabric such as VBC 110, I select Chan because price is similar to Gordan. However, if i like to have better fabrics such as Fox flannel. Chan's price will almost double Gordan's price providing I bring the fabric by myself ( which I can order directly).

More comments from other gentlemen are highly appreciated.

Someone earlier spoke that Yao no longer accepts CMT for new customers so you may want to verify.

I have 2 younger coworkers got suits made from GY.
Both suits look nice..but i think a bit conservative...
They claim they did request more stylish look when placing order.
Maybe I am wrong but it's my own observation.

Yes, I do like a somewhat stronger should. Looks very nice in the Yao suit below.
But the Chan suit also looks very nice.

Really undecided between the two...what do you think? Is GY suitable for a 24-year old?

Since I don't have experience with bespoke I'd need the tailor to provide a lot of guidance and advice.

(GY)

(WW Chan)
Is it just me or are the trousers too baggy ? Is it a common trait of GY suits ?

Did your co-workers CMT?

Patrick of Chan maybe almost twenty years younger than Gordan. It is easily understand why young men prefer Chan.

It's probably the house style of each. You may have to press Yao on what you prefer and continuously remind him.
