Good news so far. Once you've got your refund, you can start all over the right way.

I was just wondering what make the tailor to refund the $ as there is a Chinese saying like money goes to the crook is like light falls into a black-hole, it never comes back.
If everyone can get a refund from a tailor or other artisans of any trade for a "unfit/ unsatisfactory" reason - they will be in a deep deep trouble.
Is this forum so powerful ?

    Glad I saw this thread.
I should be in HK a bit in February.

My girl always buys a new purse on vacation...so I might as well have some fun.

I would think service and reputation.

    reputation yes.
a further implication from my previous thread is : U may not be the only one whom got a suit like that. and that U alone cannot create enough noise for them to fear a drop in business or reputation - this bad exp. should get some advertisment of some sort to amplify the noise to let more people know. More people will know, more likely their business will be affected => that leads to my last Q

Hi. A word of caution. Feb 16 2018 is Chinese New Year. 16-19 are official holiday. Most workshop closes for a week or so. Before CNY, they are busy to deliver the order within the year. Better communicate with your tailor in mind what arrangement can be done.

Does anyone have a picture of what a properly fitting suit jacket should look like from the back as well as how should it look during a hug? I want to see where any stretching of the fabric occurs, if any.

Standing or hugging should look clean if the suit is well made and yes it is asking a lot. The reason is good suit maker can hide the extra fabric to allow movement (such as hugging) TBH hugging is a little extreme but say... driving a car.

So it still looks like there is minor stretching around the lower portion of the trapezius muscle showing the muscle's outline. Is that acceptable? I see there is no significant wrinkling within the center of the trapezius muscle as compared to my suits.

I just want to understand the bounds for my next MTM / Bespoke venture.

To be fair, I won't ask or expect a tailor will deliver a perfect suit to me at the first time commissioning. Of course not so in a 5 days 1 fitting arrangement. I think asking for refund is going too far.

In your opinion, how many fitment errors are allowed before one can ask for a refund on a 5 day first time fitting arrangement? 10? 20? Unlimited? Just trying to understand what the line is.
