I think addressing your concerns with Peter directly is totally fair. Feel free to mention my name if you think it will help. FWIW, I personally don't like the thick MOP buttons. I think the medium MOP ones are much more elegant, at least the ones that he has in stock.

I emailed them for kicks since I'll be in Hk in a few days. They say they can have a suit done in a week. Wonder if I should risk it....

I've got suits done by Chan and Yao and I got one done by Simpson Sin for $600 or so. I had no fittings for SS suit as they were on tour and it came back very good but the coat was a bit snug so it had to be let out by my tailor a bit.

Go for it. I just emailed then asking for a particular pattern if they have in stock.

Got a suit and some pants from them while they were on tour in San Francisco earlier this year. Good price but suit was a bit tight so I had to have my tailor fix it. The fabric caught my eye and couldn't resist.

Thanks for the post! Details seem to be sparse but they seem pretty reputable. I might check in with them or peter lee ... hmm...shot in the dark, not to lush this thread away from its original topic. Do most of these guys take cash only, or is credit card pretty common as well?

In my experience, they all take cards (MC and Visa, Amex less so).

In fact, all Hong Kong tailors prefer credit card payment rather than EPS, unless you pay in cash which also ease their balance sheet for trade tax purposes.

All I have is from their website which i believe I linked in my OP They are coming to my campus and offering 10% discount for students so I am going to visit them and get a look-see but as I have no personal experience with them I was reaching out to the forum's collective wisdom. As per their email: Our family tailoring shop, JC & Son Tailoring Co., will be coming to Boston on Dec 2 to Dec 4. Prices for our high-quality custom-made suits and shirts are follows: suits are $ 550 and up , and shirts are $85 and up. Fabric brands include Loro Piana, Scabal, Fintes, Thomas Mason premium shirting etc. What differentiates us from most other custom tailor shops is that (1) The founder (my father) is himself a very reputable Shanghainese tailor rarely found in today's market, so we have the technical expertise to ensure a high level of quality that our sophisticated clientele requires and deserves; (2) As an XXXXX alumni myself, I understand your needs and I make sure our whole company does the same and knows how to serve you in a professional fashion. (3) JC & Son is conscientious and responsible in decision making in every part of the value chain, as we understand that long-term, trusting customer relationships are more worthwhile than short-term profits; For students, we offer a very special discount and gift to you. All students will get 10% discount for your order, as well as get a free shirt, if you order at least one suit.

Interesting that they go to NY and Boston only. Guess they have no clients on the western side which is hard to believe.
