You should return it and get a new one rather than file a warranty.

Isn’t that what “warranty” means now?

If it gets repaired at all it will be for resale as a refurbished unit.

Unless you meant, “Return it for a different model / brand”, which is probably a good idea.

Well, I bought it online. There's no way I am boxing up and shipping a TV. The warranty covers manufacturing defects. Does pulling out a cable along with the casing a manufacturing defect, or will they just claim me a brute?

I have been doing a lot of redecorating recently and put an item on Craigslist. You get a lot of inquiries and such that go nowhere, but this one particular guy had been trying to schedule time to pick up the thing for a while. I don't take any of these inquiries seriously until the person actually shows up because the nature of Craigslist. So last Saturday I was not at home and I received a text from him wanting to come over to pick up the thing because he was "in the area" he also offered me half of what I was asking also it was after midnight. I just loled and told him the lowest price I would take and that I wasn't at home. This week for some reason he had to wait to his wife to come back from Europe and couldn't pick it up until that happened. Last night he insists he is coming, but has to drive around for a while for "work". He shows up at 9pm and is inspecting the thing like I am selling him a Ferrari and complaining that my place has bad lighting and he is looking to put this in a large bright space in his Jersey home (he also has a place in Manhattan) Ok? He decides to buy it from me and it kind of precious about getting it out into his BMW SUV. To make things even more odd he paid for half of it in all singles as he does "electrical work for bars" and gets paid from tip/drink singles often. So now I have this massive brick of singles.

What could one do with a massive brick of singles? I’m struggling to come up with ideas...

Personally, I just light all of my unwanted things on fire in the front yard while wearing my cashmere attolini db suit. It is the best way to show dominance over the neighbors.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not against selling unwanted items. The thing is I hear so many stories about what complete shitstorms craigslist transactions tend to be.

I have had decent luck with craigslist. Actually. But your point is well taken!

I probably had about 20 ridiculously lowball offers and 50 people saying they wanted to buy it, or come to see it and never heard from them again.

That's what I'm talking about.

I sometimes look at my local list for musical equipment. Dirty, beat to **** stuff at 95% of retail.

I’ve been using Facebook marketplace. I had a few okay transactions. But some weird ones...

I sold a WiFi router. The first red flag should have been when she asked whether it came with Internet. But she paid for it in advance, so I figured I’d go through with it. She sent her roughly sixth grade son to pick it up after school. Then they couldn’t figure out how to use it. I’m a nice guy so I sent a link to the manual and support site, but I’m not giving any more tech support for a $10 router.

I had a Keurig up for $20. A bunch of people contacted me about it and flaked. Someone offered $15. I told her I’d take it if she was the first person to actually pay me. She wanted me to message her when I got home from work, I said “I’ll try,” I forgot to do it, never heard from her again. Sold it a few days later for $20, and she sent me a message freaking out on me and calling me “dishonest” because I didn’t message her when I got home from work. Told me she got one for $10 from another seller. Against my better judgment I wrote back, “I got my asking price and you got one cheaper. Looks like we’re both better off. Why are you complaining?” Turns out she’s an employee at a butcher’s shop I sometimes shop at. That should be a fun encounter if she recognizes my name on the CC.

Arranged to buy a file cabinet from a guy selling out of his storage unit. Told the guy I’d be there at 2:45. I got there at 2:50, so 5 minutes late (my bad, I guess). Called the guy twice when I got there and sent a Facebook message (which he saw). He never responded. Wasted about an hour of my day on that one.

Also it’s annoying af that the default canned response is “Is this available?”

My wife wants a vegetable garden. I was all set to build some wooden beds, but stumbled upon these. They come in various arrangements and sizes. Seems like a no brainer.
