I love the ones that end up having different color flowers on the same plant because of soil pH differences. Always looks cool.

that bloom is really terrific .

an interesting tidbit : i'd collected some blossoms of wild radish , which does the same thing so far as ph and varies from like purple to lavender to blue to white , super duper common western weed

and brewed a sample dye bath for some wool scraps . i added vinegar as a matter of course and the color tilted to the more intense purple . it didn't really matter i think what color the blossoms were in the dye bath , but it would be interesting i suppose to see if it made a diff ...

so i went and added a bit of baking soda to a later batch and of course it went the other way , i got the sample to a yellow iirc . so those organic compounds can be influenced off the plant even , very sensitive indeed .

Just learned that roofers and shingle manufacturers probably won't warranty your roof if it's on plank decking. You have to overlay sheets. So that's probably another $5k+ when we reroof. I wonder if you need to do the same with a metal roof. If not that might be the most economical long term.

We had a cedar roof and it made sense to have planking underneath (breathing/drying of shingles) but it was a cost that was added when we reroofed a few years back. I feel better having plywood up there under my asphalt shingles.

Looks like you also need plywood with a metal roof nowadays. No idea why.
