I just realized today that my condo fees are bleeding me dry  . Fortunately have my first condo board meeting coming up where I can rail against including cable tv (but not internet) in the fee. Any tips on how to ***** (diplomatically) about this?

I think that's pretty standard. I'd imagine the cost is very low (or that it is even offered free in exchange for exclusivity with the building).

At least in my building adding on internet is also cheaper than in a normal smaller apartment building...and it is HDTV with a DVR now. For a while it was SDTV with a dumb box.

Dammit Spectrum hit me with a $30/mo internet offer. Currently paying $45 with AT&T.

Homeownership is really a burden yet we all do it. Well, except for FIRE people.

The person who engineered our deck has become a roadblock. Should have been done a couple of weeks ago, but everyone's just waiting around for her. So irritating.

When we built our outdoor kitchen/cantina/storage (not integrated) the contractor designed it all but it needed an architect to stamp it. He of course uses a guy that works out of his house as he's cheap. Bastard dragged his feet so long I had to threaten to pull the 60k job from the contractor. Plans approved and filed with the permit office two days later!

My options:
500MB: $55/mo
1GB: $70/mo
2GB: $100/mo

All speeds are symmetric. I'm actually only at the 500MB today which I've never had a bottleneck today.

I pay Comcast $60 to get 800MBs speeds and routinely get 160MBs. I don't have issues with streaming or anything so I can't complain other than paying for something and getting 20% of what you pay for.

That sucks. I get 500/500 consistently. We can have 3-4 streams going with no one getting buffering or anything.

Edit: The bastards have been screwing me. Over the last week my speed has only averaged 494/450.

I pay 70 for 1gb fios and it is pretty reliable at 950/950.

I also have Google Fiber and they offered me the same 2GB deal. Doesn't seem worth the extra cash. 1GB is more than enough.

Most people would be better off spending the extra money upgrading the home's Wi-Fi network. That's usually the bottleneck when you have those types of speeds being pumped into the home.
