Seriously? The bulk wire and bulbs are easily a couple hundred bucks. Throw in ladders, lifts, labor, design, insurance, removal, storage and it gets pricey quick.

No no, I knew upfront it was pricey(but more like 6-8k) but was told the yearly upkeep was like 4-500. This is from someone in my neighborhood who has some. Paying 1.5 k a year for install and removal seems a bit much all in all. But might be size dependant, I am only going to be 3100sqft with a quad level house. So nothing really crazy tall

I have a decent amount of custom wiring that I did and such, but I'm not going up any further than I can get on an 18 foot ladder. My desire for sweet ass lights only goes so far.

One of my half brothers was a laborer one year for an outfit that did that. I don't know how much they charged people, but I'm not sure if want the kind of people they hired to do the work knowing where I lived or anywhere near my house.

Some companies store your lights and fix them as needed. There is a headache tax in there as well.

There is a house in our HOA neighborhood that seems to have bought one strand of lights from every store in every color offered. Nothing matches but it shows me the HOA doesn’t really give a ****.

The worst for me is the all-white look where the whites have different color temperatures. Painful.

i'm a grubby apartment dweller lurking this thread for intel on what kinds of photographs to include in my real estate love letters but here is market intel for kansas city christmas light companies: $1200 billed, discounted to $800 with early payment in august, these prices are lower than the original company after years of gradual rate hikes.

based on the above posts i reckon there's a substantial COL factor.
