It's our aim - nowhere near yet. Currently, we have no heating or AC of any kind, but we still use electricity for other normal things. Solar panels will be going on next year for that. Then we should be 100% self-sufficient in energy.

I bit the bullet and bought a leaf blower today since bulk leaf pickup starts this coming week. No regrets at all.

I wound up buying a Toro corded model. It's Wirecutter's top choice, and supposedly more powerful than any battery ones. $57 bucks... easy choice for me over the $300 ego. I already had a 100 ft. extension cord for my string trimmer, and that just reaches the street from my outdoor outlets.

Leave the leaves alone. Leaves are important habitat for all kinds of larval stage insects.

my lower back hurts from spending 4 hours in the yard today moving things and sweeping up leaves. Looks nice though

$57 vs $300 leaf blower does seem like a good proposition
