You can call me Omega "Two Sinks" Male, and that is the way to go. Used to have two dishwashers, too, but I pulled one out and replaced it with a wine fridge.

In all seriousness though, it didn't last all that long.
When I finally made it to CA for the first time years later I looked it up on a map....like...I knew she had gone to a fancy private high school in marin county, but I guess I didn't realize the brickyard sat on prime coastal real estate and that the family had parks and streets and **** named after them.

I think the McNears had to sell all the land around China Camp in the '70s because they couldn't afford the property taxes.

Must have been before you guys screwed up your state with your stupid 2% rule.
Been working with a lot of CA real estate data recently, and assessed values are all completely useless garbage. They may never be an accurate estimate of market value, but at least in most other places they actually mean something and correlate strongly with value.

Now I'm looking at a bungalow with multiple additions. The original living room was repurposed as the master bedroom, menaing the original front door opens directly into the master. Going to be nice having solicitors knocking on your bedroom door.

Looks really good in pictures, but the pictures hide the weird layout. Tours are completely booked through the weekend. Watch... I'm going to wind up putting in an offer.

Probably. Pretty sure they intentionally priced it low to generate interest. It's also on well and septic, which is bizarre to me considering the location. (Though it looks like surrounding properties are slowly being annexed.)

Yeah. I never thought much of it until now. Coincidentally my realtor is good friends with the people who own the property next door, and they are going through the annexation process. It's in Cary's extra territorial jurisdiction.

Growing up in a densely populated area, I had no idea this was a thing.

And... the disclosures for this house finally posted. Whenever you have to include a report from a structural engineer in your disclosures... probably not a good sign.

Someone updated a house they should have torn down. Sunk cost fallacy in action. I'm still going to put in an offer over asking and get outbid by 10%, though.

We’ve been in the new house for 2 nights now. A lot of wandering around trying to figure out the quirks but nothing serious. Just need to book and electrician to fix a few things, plumber for a couple, and the fireplace company to teach my idiot self how to turn it on.

The most annoying thing is the outdoor lighting situation which is a mix of extension cords lying all around and Christmas lights hidden in a lot of bushes. I am going to learn what outdoor lighting costs and my estimate is a **** ton...

I used volt lighting for my house. Easy peasy. I enjoyed it. I also got a lighting company to come out and give me a quote (3-4k),took their ideas, and implemented them myself (1k and an afternoon I think). Not to toot my own horn but....

Totally worth it to rent a trenching tool for a day. It's only like 100 bucks a day from Home Depot.
