We’ve had an influx of former Californians. Does nice things to property values as they’ll pay anything you ask them to.

People think LA people are vapid and materialistic. SF people are the same plus holier than thou. And the tech boom has only made it worse.

This just in: Some people are annoying, and they live in places.

On of the most vapid douchebags I've ever known left SF for LA to "make it" as a comedian. When we hung out in SF he was always on the make. He's not the most attractive dude, but he'd hit on anything with two legs (the "even if I'm shot down 99 times out of a hundred I'm still getting lucky once in a while" philosophy). Going to a bar with him was incredibly annoying - he was permanently looking around for another chick to hit on. When you're talking to him, he never makes eye contact because he's always scanning the room over your shoulder. ******* annoying habit.

Cut forward a couple of years, I'm hanging out with him in Hollywood, and it's exactly the same thing, except now he's on the make for an agent or anyone "in the business".

These days he writes jokes for business speeches, posting some of the worst jokes I've ever heard on his social media feed.

That's what I think about SF vs LA.

Like moths to a flame. I might like California, but I’m very glad I moved out. If nothing else, the beer is better here.

Nashville has a problem with LA and NYC leaking into the city. Stop trying to change our biscuits!
And the prices of drinks at the bar.

Sounds like a good wing-man.

Curious, how old are you Atlas?

After I retired (14 years ago) we traveled around the country quite a bit to see if we found a place we would rather live.

I've never even been to California. I can't really think of many reasons why this would change any time soon.

I can't remember the last time I was in water for recreational purposes.

Likewise, and I live in California.

OTOH I've gone for runs on three different beaches in three different parts of the state in the last couple of weeks.

Of course not, you're surrounded by raw sewage (or that's the stereotype I've heard of New York).

If you did get in the water, here's how I'd picture it going down...
