I hand wash my dishes.

Not to save the environment, not to be sanitary, not for any other reason than I enjoy it. For me it’s like shining my own shoes, it’s nothing more than a simple pleasure.

Dishwashers are significantly more efficient than hand washing.

So you're not even saving the environment by not using the big machine.

You're just doing all of that extra work, why? If you just like lathering things up, go have a wank instead.
Do you also tell your interns "You know what? Why don't you just keep browsing youtube, I'll go ahead and make these copies"?

Wait, you guys get interns to do ***** work? Can I get a job at your firm?

yes - it is the terror of germs and work that is the leading driver of dishwasher use everywhere.

i dont mean to be rude, but the implication that something that requires more manual work to do is somehow inherently superior is demonstrably false in many instances. This is one of them.

You stated this a while back and it changed how I do dishes. Most thing go in now.

Also the Bosch comment, my inlaws recently got one and if ours ever dies, Bosch is the way to go.

I don't mind washing dishes but having to wash dishes is awful. I lived an apartment for 3-4 years that didn't have a dishwasher - never doing that again. I do enjoy polishing my shoes though.

Speaking of washing dishes I really hate double bowl sinks. It’s such a pain to wash fry pans, sheet pans, cutting boards, etc. I bet the people who don’t use the dishwasher are the same people who like double bowl sinks.

you just need bigger sinks.

we used to live in an apartment with a massive ‘20s era cast iron and porcelain double sink. You could wash a baby while defrosting a turkey if you were so minded.

Certainly no offense taken. The inherent value of work is something realized and only superior in that relationship. Accomplishment is measured by a different value set but any task set upon with the goal of avoiding one or the other will in most cases end up less than optimal imo
