I was about to do exactly that when the plumber quoted me $600 for a weekend service call plus whatever the cost of the work is. If I wait a few weeks, the service call is only $110 and they will do the work for an extra $125.I can't believe no one has tagged in @patrickBOOTH over this plumbing issue.

I’m going to try some WD40 to see if that will help but I think I’m heading toward a PB moment where I pay $250 for the guy to tell me I should have used this one trick that plumbers hate.
Right after I cleared into the San Jose local I took a job with a small commercial plumbing contractor (2-5 men) for 4 years I got a plumbing license and learned a lot. In those days valves were 100% rebuildable with universal parts, seals, seats etc available at neighborhood hardware stores. Chicago Brass was imo the best. Now everything's throwaway. 🤷♂️
.
I don't know about a lifetime, ceramic cartridges do become drippy but they are easy to change out. The lack of universality is the drag imo.Quality valves and cartridges today should be 100% maintenance free and last a lifetime. Maybe you can't rebuild a ceramic cartridge like before, but if it lasts 100+ years, it shouldn't matter.
@UnFacconable's problem is his fixtures are French and thus surrender early and often.
worse, mine are made in Brooklyn, maybe they are in cahoots with PB’s plumbers.@UnFacconable's problem is his fixtures are French and thus surrender early and often.
I thought Waterworks was made in France.worse, mine are made in Brooklyn, maybe they are in cahoots with PB’s plumbers.
I will call and see if they have a tool like the Moen one. Something like that would be perfect.
Mine are Watermark, not Waterworks.I thought Waterworks was made in France.

If that would work just use a box end wrenchworse, mine are made in Brooklyn, maybe they are in cahoots with PB’s plumbers.

I interpreted "open side" to mean that it wasn't like a box end wrench. I guess I could use a box end wrench like this to remove it by threading the entire hose through it. Without the 90 degree angle, I'm back to square one.If that would work just use a box end wrench
Maybe a Bnut wrench we used them on aircraft hydraulic tubingI interpreted "open side" to mean that it wasn't like a box end wrench. I guess I could use a box end wrench like this to remove it by threading the entire hose through it. Without the 90 degree angle, I'm back to square one.
@otc did you recently buy a power tool system? What did you get?
