The new water heaters are a huge improvement. If your old one is more than 10 years old you will probably have better hot water and a lower utility bill.

I don't remember exactly how outdoor bulbs are rated but there's some specific classification system for weather and moisture exposure that most bulbs are rated for one way or the other. Google it.

As far as LED 120v floods go I got some really nice par38 replacements from Lowes. Utilitech brand, made by feit. They're 1400 lumens (read: bright) and have a relatively focused beam (not sure the exact number, but they work well from my second-story overhangs), 3000k, rated for outdoor exposure, etc. Dimmable too if you're into that. Cost about $30 each.

Downside is glare because the light all comes from the center of the bulb.

I bought Utilitech for our indoor LEDs and really like them for the price.

Need something for these type of fixtures where multiple bulbs are used.

Oh, those things with the candelabra bases and bulbs on display?

As far as I know there just isn't an attractive drop-in LED bulb for that application. Best to replace the whole fixture with one that has an opaque glass and a medium base, or get those dedicated LED fixtures with the LED internals located in the fixture itself for aesthetic purposes.

Alternatively they have halogen-in-a-bulb replacements that use a little less electricity, but not much.

That would be nice. I don't even know how old it was but 10 years is certainly possible.

Unfreaking believable, they sell this light-bulb for 9 dollars at Loews while the wholesale cost is less than 90cents. Watch Alibaba destroy Loews and Homedepot superprofits.

Do you have proof the wholesale price is that cheap?

Here is a house for sale in Joshua Tree, CA. The owners spent 14 years building it including all custom furniture.

I used to publish some of the owners works.

The place is for sale for a fraction of the price they put into it.

I imagine Klingons would live in something like that.

^ Funny that you mention that. They used this home to shoot a brief Star Trek scene

Amazing effort and vision, like it or not I admire people who spend money on personal visions like this house. Some of the water-features have tacky mosaics but the rest is pretty remarkable.
