Our fridge is crapping out. Mrs. Unf made the bold move of cleaning it a few weeks ago and now it's doing a worse job keeping frozen stuff frozen (and the fridge isn't getting cold enough either). I have a trusty appliance repair guy and he told me if he had a 12 year old samsung in his home he wouldn't even bother trying to repair it either, so I guess that is that.

On the bright side, looks like we can get a few more cubic feet with one of the new LG Max fridges and my biggest complaint has always been that I want more fridge space for our family of 4. Unfortunately, the LGs don't have dual compressors so this is probably a slight downgrade in that regard but the fridge I would want (Bosch 800) is a few inches too tall for the cutout, in addition to being double the price. I don't feel like we're going to live here forever but I said the same thing 11+ years ago when we moved in.

When our fridge crapped out last summer, I too wanted the Bosch 800, and had to pass for the exact same reason.

Don’t bother asking these smalltimers about this stuff. Real iGents would just use their middle-class income to make the problem go away.

My majordomo would handle that.

You’re such a smalltimer you probably don’t even have a minordomo.

I'm such a smalltimer I didn't even know that was a thing!
