The History Boys (the movie)

While I had a vague idea about what this movie was about, I was not prepared for what I saw in the movie theater. Superb acting. Characters that interested me and that I cared about. Every character, every scene, has a purpose. Tightly knit plot and dialogue.

That school is perfectly grimey. The headmaster is wonderfully swarmy.

While there is a "gay" issue in the movie, it is not what the movie is all about. Just as "Bobby" is not really about Bobby Kennedy.

One of the best pictures I've seen in a long time.

I agree that the movie was good, but the live theatrical performance I saw with the exact same cast was better. The play also differed somewhat from the movie. But overall, it's a fine production.
