A non wild one would probably just be il maiale or porco, the Italian name anyways.
Cinghiale is the wild boar.

Peccary should be altogether different. I believe they are found from Central to South America.

Quick Google search revealed that there are Peccary found in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Who knew ??‍♂️

Though more curious how peccary leather for shoe (which I was told is different than the one for glove) behave vs the “i assume various type of wild boar” being used in shoe industry

In Italy with cinghiale we mean wild-boar while with maiale we mean pig.

CNES sizing question, any help greatly appreciated. I take a UK 9.5 in wider fitting shoes (UK 9.5 EE in Norman Vilalta for example). Would I fit a CNES 45, which they claim to equivalent to a UK 9.5? Looking to pick up one of their Loafers.

Sounds likely. CNES, as many SEA brands, have lasts made in Paris Point sizing so the steps between each size don't align with UK sizing. The conversion used here in Europe between UK / US and EU sizes is usually not correct for real, it's messes up people's thought of what EU / Paris Point sizes actually are.

It's the unit of length used for EU sizes, i2/3 cm, or 6,67 mm. I've written quite thoroughly on shoe sizing here.

Any thoughts on how ACME compares to Gaziano & Girling? Are the ACMEs just as narrow in the waist, and any noticeable difference in the instep/overall fit?

I prefer the aesthetics of G&G over some other luxury brands like Meccariello because they look sexier (instead of more traditional) and lower instep fits me better

I have both. Acme is so much sleeker that is not even funny. Leather from G&G seems sturdier.

Wow, the shoes do look ultra sleek in photos. Do you take the same or different size in Acme in G&G, and any noticeable difference in instep/overall fit?

No, I don't take the same size in both. Then again, I don't take my G&G size in anything else. I have to size up for G&G.

I cannot compare fit as I was measured in person for Acme and got my G&Gs through their website. It would be an unfair comparison but I have wide, high instep feet and neither are the best in that department. Still, can't complain. I find Acme a way better value proposition because of their lasts and finishing. There is nothing like that I have ever seen. Maybe Lu Yang can compare.

I was also underwhelmed by the mighty square Deco. They look not much different from my pointy finsbury or loading. Of course, leather and finishing for G&G are above and beyond the entry-level French makers.

I can write a more coherent long-winded review about these comparisons if people are curious about it. Let me know
