Anyone have any of their bags? How is the quality and material feel?

I think the bags and packs look great...
especially for the prices they are selling for...

of course if they had real leather and different detailing they would even be better....but then the price would not be as good.

you get what you pay for... at any rate the look is good for the price they are asking.

I think the "Novel" bag looks good - for a $75 weekend bag. Kinda like a men's Longchamp bag, no ****.

I've handled these in person at a store and a close friend of mine has a duffel bag.

The quality, to the touch, especially, is just sub par. They feel cheap, plain and simple. Their "custom fabric" is a canvas blend (?) that is extremely thin and non-substantial - like you could tear it with your hands. Faux leather is faux leather but this is bottom of the barrel, faux.

Summary: Look nice in photos. But cheap to the touch. Hard wear and fabric is non-substantial. They've somehow effectively positioned themselves amongst higher-end manufacturers but I don't understand how.

The fabric and construction of longchamp beats the breaks off Herschel...imo. Purse versus bookbag I understand, but again, this relative to quality and fabric.

Saw their booth at agenda, and was pretty bummed.
Just about every streetwear brand had a filson/janspot rip.

The fact that they don't offer Lifetime warrenty should be a redflag.

I went with Beckel canvas instead at the same price point. Ordered a war bag with interior pockets added.

You get what you pay for with Herschel, the prices are low but the materials reflect this.

I bought one of their backpacks at the end of last year. The right strap tore in March even though I didn't carry heavy things in it. The shop I bought them from was pretty nice about it though, and offered to replace it.

I bought the Novel, Heritage and Little America when I was shopping on a budget. And truthfully, they did as good a job as I could expect for the price I paid. Yes, the leather tore slightly on both straps on my Little America, but not enough to notice and or affect the performance. All three are still in good condition and if any one is looking, I'd be willing to part with them. Edit: I know "Shoreman with numbers" won't be happy with me upon viewing this post.
