The herd girls are watching this? Not that it is unexpected but man that **** is horrible? (optimistic) You sure its not just the dubstep they heard in UK skins which they watched en masse after they realized how bad the US one was? edit: WTF is going on? I hadn't noticed this one at all but you guys are totally right. Look at all of the moronic youtube comment trends that have hit all of the dubstep videos (*especially* dubstep remixes of songs the herd might already be familiar with). Also, the comments don't even make sense on so many of the videos because they appear to be TERRIBLE dubstep (probably because they are what comes up when you search "dubstep" instead of actual songs).

Unfortunately, concert was on my birthday, and there would have been a bunch of poseur fans there, so the concert would have been anything but fun for me. For days afterwards, my fraternity brothers' fb statuses were about how "Skrillex changed my life."

No wonder herd girls love Skrillex. He always uses that sample of the girl screaming "Oh my Gawwwwwd!"

One kid at a show around here went up and asked the DJ "What was that fast music you were playing before the dubstep?" The new dubstep fans don't even know what d'n'b is!

I really don't know what to make of the fact that dubstep has found an audience outside of the usual coterie of edm listeners/ravers. I remember when DJ Kay first started playing dubstep in and around Greensboro four or five years ago. It would invariably drive all women from the dancefloor, leaving behind a sausage-fest of head-nodding trainspotters.

Dubstep's fun, but doesn't have the party vibe that d'n'b and regular house do.

There are two reasons why dubstep is is gaining more popularity, both of which are lame as ****.

1. The new B.Spears song Hold it against me which has a dub break in it.
2. The American Skins plays dubstep every ******* episode.

Thats why all these silly broads are talking it about it now.

That's not a real dub break at all.

What clubs in Greensboro are playing decent electronic music? Greene Street usually sucks.

Although I must admit, every time I hear a dubstep bass break (which is not often but I guess it will change with the herd jumping on it) I think of Chris from seasons 1 and 2 of the UK Skins.

Oh, I know. Part of me is upset with Rusko for collaborating with ******* Spears, but then the other part of me doesn't want to hate on him for trying to get money, and expand his market.

That song is awesome. Seriously. I have never laughed that hard at a music video.

If I can get out there, I will. I go to Elon, so it's enough of a hike that it's prohibitive. You aren't going to see Tiesto in April by any chance, are you?

Not my scene. I'm going to see Dieselboy at (*gasp*) Greene Street tomorrow though.

Tiesto plays in North Carolina? Didn't think there'd be that many fans of EDM there.

It's funny where these people end up on the US. They do the full tour but often play at some goofy spots.

I saw that basshunter was playing in my area a few months ago...it was at some 18+ club out in the suburbs. If I wanted to go, I would have had to take the commuter train and hope one would get me back in at night. If this were europe, it probably would have been a mid sized club with a high cover (or sold out).

i really hated dubstep before, but have gotten into it a little more recently. bad dubstep is realllly bad, and good is bomb diggity. lovin some of the mix dubstep which incorporates the best of drum n bass and dub step together. hard as fuckser.
