Sorry for wading into a discussion I haven't previously been part of

Had a quick look at the valet and can you advise what the bottom drawer is for? It's so low down I can't really see any practical function for it.

Personally, what I would do is -

Move the trouser rail up to just beneath the hanger

Drop the upper drawer to beneath that and raise the lower drawer to be directly underneath that (one drawer on top of the other)

Next I would remove the wooden top to the drawer and put a glazed insert allowing the upper drawer to work as a display cabinet and fitted with custom inserts, watch, cufflink, tie bar etc. Consider the addition of LED lighting here in order to really highlight the contents.

Lower drawer would be a miscellaneous drawer, essentially keep everything in there and shift to the display drawer for the day ahead.

I'd keep the shoe placement where you have them and from the side of the valet have an ornate hook of some description from which to hang a shoe horn.

If any of this sounds of interest please let me know and I will happily knock something up in SketchUp for you to have a look at

    Many thanks,
    Steve

    A little shoe care humor:

Q: What happens if you eat yeast & shoe polish?

    A: Every morning you'll rise & shine!

Pair of Drakes madders arrived today. I needed a little red in my rotation and these are absolutely fantastic. Just saw prices are even further reduced - not sure you'll find these ties at better prices right now. :slayer:

The Ancient Madder ties are really special - and prices have now been further reduced - which reminds me: I need to go pick out my ties before they sell out!

Thanks for posting pictures! But let's see some with them on!! :bigstar:

I bought a bunch of suede cleaning stuff from the hanger project and did the suede cleaning tutorial from the website on my GG loafers last night. That stuff is amazing. Took maybe a half an hour of my time and they look like new again.

    THANKS KIRBY!!!!

Stitch, nice work. I bought all my suede cleaning paraphernalia from Kirby as well. After seeing the results, there are no more worries about banging around in your suedes.

I use the suede brush every time before and after I wear my suede G&Gs. Keeps them going strong.

I tried placing an order using the "StyleForum" promotional code to get the 10% off. The code was accepted initially but when I attempted to check out and complete the order, the discount was removed. If I tried to re-enter the promo code I would get an error message saying that it was an invalid code. I'm pretty sure that the issue is that my order qualified for free shipping (shoe care items). Due to the amount of items I was purchasing though, the 10% off promo code would have saved me about $5.00 more than the free shipping offer. Once the system confirmed that it qualified for the free shipping, the promo code still wouldn't work if I chose a non-free shipping method.

I know it's not much but I thought I'd bring it to your attention in case this isn't meant to be how it works.

In other news, great offerings on your site!

I highly recommend the Nano protector as well during the foul weather months. Amazing stuff. Only downfall is it needs re-application every 3-4 weeks if you wear the shoes consistently.
